Private jungle “Loft del Rio” river access

Pretty and remote cabin, the owner Wouter is really friendly and helpful. Great Italien Restaurant (Gusto) in walking distance. A beautiful beach is close but you should have a car The kitchen is very well equipped and everything is very clean. There will be insects inside, also raoches, nevertheless because it's in the jungle.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Something deeper in the jungle yet close to Uvita and the coast. Just the peace and quiet and closeness to Nature I needed. And the cabin has no glass windows, just screens, so you can hear the music of the jungle very clearly. Nights were spectacular. I loved falling asleep to the symphony of the the surrounding wilderness and waking up to the sounds of roosters and howler monkeys (: The property has access to a river and mini waterfall which was very tranquil and serene. The drive to the cabin was a fun little adventure in itself and 4x4 is recommended. The hill that leads down to the cabin is ultra steep but you have the option to park atop the hill and walk down which is a short jaunt. The host, Wouter, was amazingly attentive, personable, and chill. He would always respond to my questions/ messages quickly. You could not ask for a better host. I can recommend Loft del Rio with total confidence and rate it a perfect 10. If you are looking to experience an immersive jungle experience that is also close to the coast, this is it.

We recently stayed at this delightful loft just a few minutes from the main road and one of the best beaches in the area. The loft was well-equipped with everything needed to prepare meals, we particularly enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony while listening to the soothing sounds of the river and the local wildlife. The owner, Wouter, was incredibly friendly and communicative, always available to assist us. It felt more like dealing with a friend than a property owner, which made our stay even more enjoyable. On day 4, Wouter offered to clean the room and change the bed sheets, which was a nice touch. Nestled in the jungle, the property is surrounded by the lush nature, flowers, and wild plants characteristic of Costa Rica. The neighbor’s roosters and hens added to the authentic vibe, and we loved waking up to the sound of the rooster each morning. The loft itself is simple but has all the essentials for a comfortable stay. It’s accessible by 4x4 to the main entrance, but if you don’t have one, you can park about 25 meters up the hill and walk down. We stayed for 11 days, and it was the perfect amount of time to fully relax and explore the area. The internet speed was amazing, and I even got some work done without any issues with the connection. The loft is also pet-friendly, making it perfect for us and anyone traveling with their pets. We also got to meet Canela, Wouter’s amazing dog. :) Just a 5-minute drive to Uvita, you’ll find supermarkets, shops, and restaurants. If you have a car, I highly recommend exploring the area. There are beautiful waterfalls and other stunning beaches nearby, such as Playa Ventanas. Overall, this loft offers a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and authenticity, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway in Costa Rica.

Wouter was a gracious host and helped as much as possible. Close to Hermosa beach and a great Italian restaurant. A chance to do your own cooking. Excellent Wifi.

A 4x4 vehicle is a must. The river access isn’t somewhere you would want to swim. Roosters crowed day and night.

the house is mostly nice and has most of the facilities needed. but totally not worth it, if you ask us.

we were really looking forward to this stay based on others' reviews. however, it turned to be a huge disappointment and stress. below are some details: - wifi was not provided and the absense of it was only communicated upon arrival, despite us asking explicitly in advance if it is indeed available as one of us had to deliver a lecture online. - fruits mentioned in the description were not available. - construction going on nearby was not mentioned to us and it made circular saw and hammering on the metal noises, screams and loud music. which made the anticipated rest impossible, and appearance of the advertised animals around - highly unlikely. - after mentioning that we are not happy about these issues and asking if a discount could be provided, the owner went very angry and said we create problems and requested we paid right away or "get the f**k our of here", which we if course had to do, booking a more expensive place last minute, and now facing the risk of being charged with a fee for no-show. with hundreds if bookings worldwide before, this happened to us for the first time. it was really stressful. - furthermore, the house has no curtains, and there is a direct view from the owners house into the property, so there is no way to secure privacy in the evening/at night. this looked quite disturbing. - cards were not accepted and judging from the paulyment methods offered, we are not sure if the rental is legal.

You feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle even though you’re five minutes from the main road.

The last section of road was 4wd only so we had to walk, but no big deal. The owner drove our luggage down and back up
