Casa Viva Eco Lodge

This place was an absolute highlight of our stay in Costa Rica. The cabins are located in a beautiful garden right on the beach. The surroundings are full of life with birds, sloths and monkeys in the trees all around.

O quarto era novo, espaçoso, muito confortável e a varandinha tinha uma mini cozinha com alguns itens à disposição. A propriedade fica de frente p/ a praia de Punta Uva, uma das mais bonitas da região. E Gabriel foi sempre muito solícito na nossa estadia, sempre tirando nossas dúvidas e ajudando a organizar algumas atividades.

The tropical forest garden is beautiful some details are impressive but too much went wrong and it was all too stressful to enjoy it really... No holiday feeling at all.

I travel a lot, more than a hundred bookings via booking. And I don't like to write bad reviews, but this time I make an exception... For me this was an exceptionally bad experience and terrible management. Especially for the price range of the "deluxe" which looked so promising on photos... It was the first place in Costa Rica where we had to pay in advance and pay an extra deposit (returned after check out), not via Booking but via their own system. "Reservation maybe cancelled if valid credit card is not received within 12 hours." There is no reception, no signs, no explanation. When we arrived a carpenter showed us our unfinished stay (we payed for the deluxe...) without much explanation. I love nature, the surroundings are really beautiful but if your looking for some basic respect I would not recommend this place. We stayed at places like la Selva (real basic, but nice), this was an entirely different level. The doors of our stay were wide open when we arrived and after they cleaned during our three days stay, and ofcourse we had many insects (moscuitos, ants, huge bugs and a lizard) in our room. After we put all our belongings inside they started to work inside our room, many things were unfinished (for the full price! Nothing we were warned for). At night the lights flashed on several times (we finally unplugged them ourselves). The houses are near the street, not quiet at all. The interior was not like the pictures, some of the furniture was very basic (we stayed at 8 different places in Costa Rica, this was the pourest experience). No coffee or tea available, the manager (only available by phone/WhatsApp) simply kept saying "sorry for the inconvenience" but did nothing except shrug his shoulders... This was absolutely not what we had hoped for. The roof is plastic (or metal) and makes a lot of noise, not only when it rains. During our stay I got 9 (!

We arrived before check-in, and Francisco and Nicole were very helpful in getting us settled. It was my husband's birthday that day, and they were kind enough to make thorough recommendations of the area for the family to enjoy. We saw a sloth, monkey, three green macaws, and various exotic birds right on the almond tree. It was truly astonishing to see.

We thought we reserved a villa with air conditioning, but that might have been my mistake. That was the only thing missing in our experience. We had issues adjusting the speed of the ceiling fan.

A very special place! Great location on the beach, beutifull property, very peacefull yet wild. Nature meets ocean in a perfect balance. The houses are private and well aquipped, simple but not basic. Great atmosphere and design. Friendly and attentive staff. A truely uniqe experience. There are not a lot of places like this place out there (:

Not cheap. A good breakfast would make it better value for money. No AC. Maybe others would'nt mind as it's part of the whole experience- not having AC, feeling the joungle around you, hearing the ocean, etc - but for us, there were too many bugs (: Nets on the windows can do the trick as well.

Our whole experience was magical. That the best word I can think of to describe our visit. The beauty of the property along with the abundant wildlife blew us away. The property manager and staff went above and beyond to make our experience one of the best we’ve ever had. We highly recommend this place to anyone considering it.

Very nice bungalow. Beds were comfortable and nice. Beautiful garden and close to the beach. Nicole was very helpful and provided many suggestions for tours and restaurants.

Everything was fine! Btw the welcome drink ( coconut water) was delicious!

The property is beautiful. This hotel has no restaurant. It also needs more lighting at night. Bring a flashlight.

Quiet, private, directly on the beach and also immersed in the jungle, lots of animals, and especially the friendly staff. Nicole was extremely kind and helpful. Perfect.
