UMVA Muhazi - Adults Only

Umva was breathtaking. This was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy everything was. The staff is also amazing (Honore, Diane, Rita, Jado, Meddy, Fidia). Pictures don't do this place justice. It was very serene, peaceful, clean and it was exactly what I needed for my birthday trip. I'm definitely returning.

We just spent 3 nights at UMVA Muhazi and what a delight it is. UMVA (Kinyarwanda for 'listen' or 'experience') is not the run of the mill resort on a lake. It is a small (9 units) facility that is big on creating experiences that build community (and wonderful memories). All 9 units are separate, and each has a small patio on the front to overlook the lake. Although it is built on a hill, there are beautiful stone pathways and stairs that make getting around very easy. The buildings themselves are beautiful. They are works of art! The staff are friendly and helpful and engaging. Breakfast offers a cold buffet and cooked to order (full English breakfast available). Lunch can be chosen from 3 options given each day. Breakfast and lunch are served as you arrive. Dinner is a different approach. It is a community meal that begins promptly at 7pm. Dinner includes an amuse bouche, soup, salad, palate cleanser, main and dessert. This is not a tasting menu. The servings are generous and tasty. If you're a bird lover, you will be delighted. Both the natural flora and the planted landscaping provides a veritable feast for the birds.

Gorgeous property, a really unique experience. They organised a boat trip for us, went kayaking, had massages and relaxed enjoying the river view. It was amazing and one of our favourite hotels we've stayed at to date.

The place is beautiful, peaceful and charming. The delicious community dinner is a great way to get to meet new people. I loved the bike trip & kayaking on the lake. The message was brillant as well. All is wonderful.

You have to leave the lounge area at 11pm.

The location, ambiance, the rooms the design the cleanliness, massage, food, communal dinner experience .. yoga porch, the hammocks at the lounge Definitely i will be coming back

The cost for full board is quite expensive
