"The most relaxing stay ever!"

The whole place was so peaceful and relaxing. The staff were all amazing and tended to our every need. Free Tuk tuks into Ella town were so handy, even if we were just a short walk into town. We were treated to a cooking class while we were here, with their in house chef Harishan. Harishan was so professional and his curry recipes are to die for! He was assisted by a new comer to the Aware Retreat team - Bhawanraj - who did a great job with everything asked of him from the chef. Cannot recommend this place, or their services enough!

A peaceful and beautifully designed retreat with stunning views of the hills and paddy fields. The property feels calm and isolated, yet to close to town centre and railway station. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully done. The food was amazing, and the Sri Lankan cooking class was a true highlight of our stay. They also have an in-house tuk-tuk driver who was very helpful for getting around. Staff were warm and attentive. Overall, a very refreshing and memorable stay.

"Stunning retreat amongst paddy fields"

Arawe Retreat is a calm oasis in a busy town. The views within the property were stunning. We stayed in a villa and the cottage. Both properties were tastefully decorated and comfortable. The villa is the star tho - spacious with multiple places to sit and watch nature. Plenty of birds and monkeys. Only stayed a night so we didn’t have time to explore other offerings but wish we had stayed longer. The wellness centre looks amazing. Thanks to Suren for his help throughout. What a lovely kind man.

The booking team didn’t communicate my child’s nut allergy to the kitchen team despite me informing them 3 times. The staff were genuinely upset by the mistake. I would just suggest checking at every opportunity next time. It’s not the most accessible with mobility issues - lots of stairs into and out of property.
