Saffier river cottage Farmstay

The house is situated in a peaceful surroundings nearby a river and mountains

The time with your family is quality spent because of the beautiful surroundings and no TV or Wifi

Excellent location! Nostalgic farm stay reminds me of my childhood. The boxer dogs also loved the stay. The info doc is awesome, pity I forgot to order anything and had to rush to Lady Grey to get something. The scenery is to die for! Absolutely amazing place to stay!

About 25kms offroad, following the advice using a SUV is definetely wise. Managed with a Toyota Corolla, but needed careful driving.

Great place for an overnight stop. Cottage was clean and linen was too. Host had place ready for us before check in time.( Thank you). Did not get to meet the host. Her kids came to the cottage to see if we needed anything( 3km from the farm house). The river was flowing too fast so no fishing or walking along the river on our trip. Excellent walks from the cottage around the hills though. Very safe. Overall a wonderful place for a stopover from Johannesburg to Hole in the wall.

Unfortunately the road to get there is firstly gravel from the tar road ( about 20 km -depends which road to take to get there) and then once you get to the farm turnoff, then the road is pretty rough. As mentioned you need a high clearance vehicle and it should not e a problem but I had a road trailer and it took me 45 min for the 8km to the cottage. Cellphone reception is a walk up to the highest point near the water tanks about 300m from the cottage.

The perfect getaway for us and our dogs! We have free run of the farm and the cottage is secluded, peaceful and stocked with boardgames!

It is a very secluded area, went running, had GOOD; NO INTERNET Quality Family Time - Loved every second!!!!!!!!! Internet Lovers - travel uphill get some exercise - there is signal! :) Did stargazing with a night march! Lovely lapa and braai area
