The rural location, the reduced environmental impact, the care the owners have taken to create a beautiful and unique environment in which to relax. Stunning location for yoga on the hammock platform & hire of a yoga mat for the duration of my stay. Delicious breakfast!

Nothing - it was all great (there were some issues with noise due to local celebrations nearby, but nothing the owners could do anything about)

We loved it! It was such a perfect stay. The place is beautiful and so peaceful. How relaxing to sleep with the sound of nature. The hosts are amazing - extremely kind and thoughtful. They are very knowledgeable about the area too. If you’re looking for a home in Moalboal, look no further! We’re so glad we chose to stay here.

This property has a great shared area with very comfy hammocks. Guests are welcome to utilise the area and we certainly did. The property was generally clean and well looked after. Angela and Simon gave us excellent recommendations for the canyoneering and scuba diving, as well as restaurants and bars. They were able to organise the canyoneering trip for us and a taxi back to the airport which was very much appreciated. The pets on property are super cute and friendly, Mr Babe (the cat) is always around for a cuddle. The property is only a 15/20 minute walk from the main road, we found it easier to just walk into town but bikes can be rented. The local people are incredibly friendly. The hosts were also very quick to respond to any messages if we needed anything.

Upon booking this property, our expectations were for peace and tranquility, based on the listing and the previous reviews. Unfortunately the property failed to meet our expectations by some degree. 3 out of our 4 nights, we were kept up until gone 3am with what can only be described as music as loud as the strip in Magaluf. We did raise this with the host after the first evening, and we were told this was simply the Filipino way of life. They choose to celebrate with loud music. That is fine and we are certainly not criticising the local people who went as far as to invite us to said parties! However, if we were aware that we would be kept up to the small hours of the morning with loud bass and donk music, we may have chosen to stay elsewhere. We were told this was not unusual by the hosts. In our view, this should be made clear on the listing as those expecting peace and quiet may find themselves disappointed, as we were. We understand that this property embraces an eco-friendly way of life. We support that. However, due to the property not having any air-conditioning, the hosts may wish to consider changing guest’s bed sheets and towels throughout their stay. We asked our room to be cleaned on day two, and we returned to find that we had exactly the same bedding, the toilet roll had not been replenished, and no cleaning had in fact been done. They had provided fresh towels upon our request. The hosts have a policy that they have to physically check guests out of their property. We had an early flight and were made to feel as though we were inconveniencing them by making them get out of bed. During the check out process, we felt extremely uncomfortable as our rooms were subjected to a rigorous search (imagine a shake-down of a cell in a prison drama looking for contraband). The hosts did not interact with us during the check out process, save for telling us to “shush” which is ironic when one considers the music we were subjected merely hours before.

In this eco-friendly haven, thoughtful hosts not only provide a sustainable retreat with green initiatives but also extend genuine hospitality and remarkable helpfulness. The accommodation seamlessly combines comfort with a commitment to environmental awareness. Additionally, the delightful breakfast served was another highlight. We highly recommend this place and would love to visit it again, appreciating not just the eco-conscious atmosphere but also the exceptional kindness and assistance from the hosts!

I had such an amazing stay at Moalboal Eco Lodge. The place was just what I was looking for: a beautiful and simple place connected with nature, in a peaceful area. And there was much more to it... The hosts are marvellous! They love nature, make an effort to protect the environment as best as they can, and they had the courage to build this place based on their values, beliefs, and their experience of travelling the world. Water on the site only comes from the rain! The three cottages are simply beautiful, tastefully decorated and built thoughtfully: smart bamboo constructions with an amazing open air bathroom and a balcony. I loved the shared areas: a kitchen, a communal space for meals or a game of darts, an upper floor with hammocks and view over the surrounding fields. The hosts are very kind, genuine, thoughtful and helpful: showing a shortcut to the beach, giving advice to watch the sardine run or try to see sea turtles, recommending the best waterfalls, helping to arrange an amazing canyoneering experiences at Kawasan falls, etc... Always a nice word, and a tasty and filling breakfast to start the day with. If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to stay, slightly away from the busy town but still close to the beach, this is for you.

The hosts Simon and Angie are fantastic! They really looked after us and gave us so many recommendations to do in Moalboal and around Cebu. They answered all our queries and dumb questions, so we felt extremely well informed and taken care of while there! The accommodation stands out compared to the others in Moalboal. It's not within the noisy club downtown, rather it's slightly away, located in a local residential area only 7 min by bike from downtown. Honestly the location was perfect. The room was super comfortable and in nature, but with all the modern essentials like high speed WiFi, modern shower and toilet, fridge and freezer. Their pets Coco (a doggo) and Mr Babe (a catto) are so cute and friendly! If you love animals and nature you're guarenteed to have a great time here.

Nothing :))) But that being said, if you're someone who needs modern resort comforts, this really isn't the place for you. There's no AC but with the fans your room will be pretty comfortable. You're in nature. You'll sometimes hear dogs barking and roosters crowing from the neighbours, but you'll likely sleep through them. You might consider these cons honestly, but this lodge honestly let's you authentically experience life in the Philippines with almost all the modern comforts you're used to.

Moalboal Eco Lodge was a little piece of paradise, a small walk away from the main beach town of Panagsama. The hosts and their dogs made us feel safe, comfortable and relaxed for the duration of our stay. The lodge has excellent facilities, such as a kitchen, lounge area (with hammocks) and a very special raised deck for exercise, yoga and relaxation. And if you don't want to cook, the optional breakfast is delicious. We'd highly recommend checking out the sardine run off Panagsama beach and organising a canyoneering trip through the hosts! For a peaceful, planet-friendly Philippines experience, Moalboal Eco Lodge is the ideal spot.

Everything was amazing. The lovely owners helped us A LOT! We came during the rainy season so we needed a bit more day-to-day planning which wouldn't have been possible without these people. Every morning we sat out on the terasse and had a brillant home made breakfest with the cute dog Coco. We would recommend this place to all who is looking for at bit of calmness to counter the filipino rush.
