The lodge was a perfect setting for our stay, we fortunately had pretty awesome weather so could make good use of the lovely outdoor decks. Our apartment was clean and well set up. Fiona, our host, was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The lodge itself is just a short walk from Tryphena Bay, with an easy visit to the pub, cafe and local store.

The only thing missing in the accommodation we rented was a lounge area. This is not a big issue when the weather is good, as the outdoor area is awesome but could be annoying if there are four of you and you have to be indoors in the evening. First world problems tho methinks!

This is a lovely accommodation option, based just a few minutes from the little town of Stonewall. We chose to use our host, Fiona, to book both our flights to and from the island as well as our rental car, and both worked out perfectly (especially when our flight times were changed and she able to let us know immediately). The wifi at the premises was intermittent, but that is par for the course for Great Barrier Island. We utilized the unit kitchen for all our breakfasts, and found it to be well-equipped. Would recommend this accommodation option as a good base to stay when visiting GBI.

I would have loved it if plunger coffee was supplied, rather than the given instant coffee.

Myself and my partner stayed here after doing the Aotea track tramping so it was great to rest up after 2 days of being out in the rain. Perfect location within walking distance of the local supermarket. The owners Fiona and her husband were incredibly accommodating as we arrived a little earlier than our check-in time and were able to get us checked in earlier after waiting for a short time and provided us with a hot cup of tea (the best thing after walking in the pouring rain) so was great to stay here - highly recommend
