Boca Tapada Lodge

The location was magical. Particularly loved the outside bathroom. Fridge and coffee maker useful. Humming birds and iguana outside our windows. Amazing view. We went horse riding and on the boat trip. Really informative and excellent guides.

We had the Corteza room, which was next to the steps down to the river, so we had people walking past our windows. This only happened a couple of times but reduced our feeling of privacy.

Boat trip up the San Carlos river to the Nicaraguan border. Lovely local guide Alan, who also took us on a night hike in the jungle. All organised through the Lodge.

The place is marvelous, very clean and welcoming, really close to the nature! Make sure to take the boat trip and say hello to Mantequilla and Princesa, the hotel pets.

Everrything was great: the rooms were gorgeous, with the view on the river and many birds. The people from the lodge (Ericka) very nice and helpful.Two places to observe the birds, like tucans. The open dinning room has a very beautiful view on the garden and birds. The boat ride with Kevin and the kayak tour with Alan were just amazing. the open bathroom of our room was amazing as well!!

We enjoyed every moment in the hotel. Nothing negative to report. Maybe the menu should have a bit more coice but for 2 nights it is perfect.

Fantastic location, the rooms are phenomenal with an amazing view of the river. Amazing kayak tours from here also, Kevin was fantastic!

Located in the middle of the rainforest. The open bathroom was amazing.

The water was dropping from the bathroom sink in the floor, the whole time.

The place was inviting and friendly. Rooms were perfect. Each bungalow is right on the river. I liked the small feel and friendly travelers. The deck with the bird feeders were perfect. So many new birds that I saw.

The price for the room and activities were on the upper range of what we would spend. But also understand everything is expensive these days :(

Excellent service. The rooms are perfect and comfortable with a nice view of the river. Great breakfast. And a paradise for birdwatching. Macaws and many more. Augusto is a great host, and the owner, Alfonso, and his family will make you feel at home.
