Milford Sound Lodge

Great experince here. We only had a powered campsite, but the facilities were amazing. Staff were really friendly and helpful and drove us down to our Milford Sound trip on the morning due to our van’s battery dying. They then helped us jump start the vehicle when we returned. If it wasn’t for them we would have never made the cruise so thank you. Would recommend :)

The location is the best we have ever had. The Riverside chalet’s layout and windows make the best of the views. The chalets themselves are also luxurious and recently renovated.

It is exceptionally expensive making the most of its monopoly in Milford Sound. Even a requested slight late checkout incurred a fee on top of $1500 per night room rate, which includes a continental breakfast but no other meals.

Incredible experience. I stayed there with my family (wife, 1 and 4 year old). It was perfect. The location is unmatched, staying right in Milford Sound. The cottages are modern, clean, well designed with beautiful views. The service was impressive, they had everything we needed from milk for our baby, to organizing tours and activities. The restaurant was top notch, with great locally sourced food, and a wide selection of drinks. It was expensive, and I was hesitant when I booked, but it was absolutely worth it.

Had a pleasant stay in a comfortable room with a beautiful view. I understand fully that this is a remote location with limited resources- however, the price paid is definitely a premium. If you are expecting 5-star resort luxury, manage your expectations! Again, it is very pleasant and nothing was amiss - it is just a bit pricey (in my opinion). The staff are all very nice and helpful, and we had a lovely guided ‘nature walk’ upon arrival. The continental breakfast was beautifully served directly to the room, and the rooms do have a refrigerator and a few basic dishes/cutlery if you cater in your own food.

We stayed in the Riverside Chalet and it was worth every penny! We were celebrating our honeymoon and this was our chance to ball out. The location is perfect to accessing everything in Milford Sound. The staff is very helpful and remembers everything. The rooms are so tranquil it is hard to leave them. We instantly felt at peace! The staff also helped us book our activities and gave extra suggestions on things to do. We would stay again and we are going to try to replicate the feelings of the rooms in our own home. Definitely book early as they sell out quickly. I'd also recommend doing the Trust the Chef tasting.

Dinner menu was just OK, Wait staff was not familiar with menu items offered and could not really answer questions about options offered.

We stayed in one of the riverside chalets. The room is super nice and comfortable. The views from the bed and living room is amazing. The staff is very friendly and food/service was excellent. Just beware…the sand flies mean business.
