Coconutbeach Bungalows

I spent 8 days in a tent and it was a magical time at Coconut Beach! The tent was right in front of the sea, I fell asleep and woke up with the sound of the waves, every morning I enjoyed the sunrise and in the evening they lit the fire and threw the lanterns in the sky. I highly recommend this place, the last authentic and wild place on the island. Robby, the owner is great and his whole family are exceptional. I left my heart in that place….

The beach

Needed cash to pay which was not stated beforehand, no atm on the island which they didn’t let us know. Owner was rude and dismissive of us. The room was nice but the property itself had rubbish around and generally smelt.

The mattress is very comfortable to sleep on, an independent tent mattress! Very comfortable and ventilated, not stuffy!

It would be nice to have more charging sockets.

nice price for a single room 12 Dollars. Easy access to the beach. Clean toilets.

Right on the beach. Facilities were ok.

A lot of constructional debris on the territory. Could have been cleaner.

Nice location, practical accommodation

Owners just care about making the most money possible (no hello, no goodbye, just trying to sell extra). Nothing seem to be done to clean the area (garbage everywhere around tents). They just don’t care

First time I put this qualification to some place. The room was pretty good; comfortable, big enough, clean enough even though the humidity, and being next to coconut beach is quite unique.

The water from the tap was brown. It’s not a “problem” if you take a shower, but it is for cleaning your teeth or specially for drinking if no one tells you about it. We informed the staff about it, and they just said it’s normal and it’s not a problem, we could buy their water. That’s absolutely unhealthy. Another two issues not as important but equally rellevant are about their lack of kindness. 1. They told us to pick us up from the pier, and we were waiting for them until they realised we were in a different pier where they don’t go and they left us there. 2. We forgot a little bag in our room. We asked, called, everything we could but our ferry was leaving so we couldn’t do much more. So we contact them and asked them nicely if in one of their trips to the pier they could put the bag on it and we’d be waiting to receive it in Sihanoukville. They just said they had work to do and that was none of their business.

The atmosphere was really good here, the staff are very friendly and make you feel more than welcome. The main chill area is great to meet people & they often have bonfires/lanterns/fireworks etc which makes it very easy to meet people as a solo traveller. The tent gives you privacy, covered from the sun so isn’t in direct sunlight & a 1 minute walk to the beach! The food options are ok, pretty in line with other hostels! Pancakes are great! Can’t rate this property enough & definitely worth staying here if you are visiting Koh Rong! I’ll be going back :) pretty cool waking up in a tent looking at the beach!
