Casas Pelicano

We had a wonderful stay! Sibyl (the owner) is so lovely and helpful. We LOVED our time here. It is a gem of a place. Gorgeous views all around and very peaceful.

The location and beach are amazing

The cleanliness and maintenance was poor.

We had an amazing stay at Casas Pelicano! Sibyl is a very welcoming and helpful host and all together great and interesting person - she even drove us into town to get food and brought us home made cake! The property is paradisic and features a swimming pool overlooking the ocean, with very quick and easy beach access. The guest house we stayed at is very pretty, includes all the amenities you need (even a smoothie mixer), a warm shower, comfortable bed , and is very secure. It has a private veranda with a hammock on it and more lovely views. The beaches are very quiet with not many people at all and great for swimming and surfing and taking long walks. The village is equally quiet, but includes a few good restaurants and a shop as well as a bus connection to Santa Cruz for those travelling without a car. We can highly recommend staying here!

Like other guests have mentioned in their reviews, there are quite a few insects that are probably normal for Costa Rica but tourists may not be used to.

Our room was more like it’s own cabin. The kitchen was well equipped to cook, the pool was nice, and it was steps to the beach.

I like the location, proximity to the beach. Beautiful nature.

The facility is not clean. There is dust everywhere and you have to preclean everything, particularly in the kitchen area. Also, the ceiling fans and add-on fans are old, dirty and broken. It makes a lot of noise at night and prevent folks from sleeping. Towels are old and thrown in the corner without knowing if they are clean.

This is for everyone who wants to experience nature. It's right by the beach, you can hear the waves from the house. The pool is nice and there is loads of wildlife all around. There is a seaturtle hatchery that you can reach by foot where they will sometimes release the baby turtles to the sea (super magical). The host Sybil is very nice and helpful (she even organised transport for us!) & there are wonderful sunsets every evening!

This is not really negative points but just things you should know. The house is situated quite remotely and in nature. 1. There are insects of course because it is a tropical environment. If you're heavily bothered by ants in the house it's probably not for you. 2. You can only really get there by car, if you don't have a car you need to get a driver. Once you're there, the grocery store is ~ 10min walking distance.
