Saguamby Mindo Lodge

Though I originally booked the "Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath" online, I didn't realize that - though beautiful - it wasn't situated directly along the river. But upon checking in, when I gently questioned the location of the suite - without a moment's hesitation, the staff immediately led me to the (even more stunning) upgraded "Superior Suite" - likewise with a private jacuzzi directly above the gurgling river - at no extra charge. Without question, among the most magical accommodations in my (40+ years/50+ countries) of solo travels! Everything about Saguamby is of the highest quality, and the staff - ever attentive and helpful. Utterly tranquil, close to town, and strong wifi. Plus... a most bountiful and delicious breakfast each morning served within a few feet of that glorious river. Thanks to All at Saguamby for making my visit to Mindo so very memorable!

Pretty much overpriced, in the end as everything in Mindo, for what it offers. Any other place in Ecuador would cost half price for such facilities. For 100 USD per night there is no swimming pool, just river which is pretty rough, even dangerous to have a bath. if you don't choose any "deluxe" suite, there is practically no wellness facilities. It's situated between river and road to mariposaria, which disturb you with noisy motorbikes and cars driving around. Noise cancelling written on list of facilities is joke. Some windows even balcony doors missing locks so you cannot really close them (dangerous if you stay with baby). No air-conditioning neither ceiling fan, no tv and slow Internet. Bungalows packed one on another so privacy issue is also there, and if you come at 8pm to restaurant or reception, there is no personnel and you have to WhatsApp them to come.. And what irritates me the most is missing toilet brush.. 5usd thing but unable to provide while presenting themselves as "luxury" with such rate. Also no choices for breakfast, they just do what they do and you have to deal with it.

Everything which can needed is provided.Breakfast was very delicious.Amazing view, decor is very nice.Staff was super friendly, very helpful and kind as well. Highly recommendable!
