Fatumaru Lodge

Great location in Port Vila, close to restaurants and the markets. The sea facing villas are gorgeous and comfortable and private. The ones at the top all have a view and are nice too, good for a family with young children/teens. The units are well equipped for self catering but it’s very easy to just pop in to town for a meal too. The breakfasts are delicious and the pool area relaxing and private.

Internet was not great. Would’ve liked access to laundry facilities. Outside kitchen was not ideal

We loved being able to hire Janet to watch the kids.

Friendly staff, good size room with aircon, short distance to the airport and town, has access to the sea.

Soundproofing - even though it’s in a quiet area, but it doesn’t have soundproofing to neighbours. You can hear everything they talk/music/sound.

Hot water is not 24/7

We stayed in the Penthouse as a family and couldn't believe how wonderful it was! Absolutely huge, with a four poster bed and canopy, full kitchen, spacious living and dining room and a beautiful balcony. We felt absolutely spoilt! The staff were friendly and kind and always remembered our baby's name and gave him attention. The weather was unfortunately not great for our stay so the pool was appreciated to keep us entertained in between rain.

Location was slightly out of town. We appreciated the walk to the markets and the local bus services are good fun, but some may prefer to be closer to things.

Nice comfortable beds and very clean rooms.

Very dark because shutters on windows need to stay closed to keep out flies and mosquitoes. Looks like it is all waterfront in images but we stayed in a room behind main villas on a hill.

We were in the penthouse during our stay and couldn't get enough of the view over the entire bay. The apartment is huge and could easily sleep 4 to 6 people. The kitchen is exceptionally equipped with all sorts of appliances. The bed in the main bedroom was heaven: the mattress just right, the quality of pillows and blankets for a 3-star lodge positively unexpected. It actually topped each of the other two 4-star places we stayed in. The air-condition in the main bedroom was also the newest and quietest we experienced whilst on the island. We cannot speak to the quality of the breakfast as we did our own.

Because the penthouse is advertised as airconditioned we expected this for the entirety of the apartment; but only the bedrooms have air-conditioning. The other rooms are ventilated by fans only which turned out to work fine for us.
