Ekuthuleni Lodge

Location is super. The lodge looks over a plain where animals often come and graze. The staff were fantastic and made every effort to make our stay as wonderful as possible. The lodge felt very homely. Piet really stood out for us as such a super guy and was very attentive and helpful.

Not much to say here but would have liked to have had some venison dishes for dinner.

The staff, the cleanliness, friendliness, the food, the personalised service, accommodating special requests, the massages, game drivers……

Great value for money. The staff were wonderful

Beautiful surroundings, as the host called it the “bushveld tv”. Property is overlooking a beautiful mountain and valley, which had visitors for our view - Rhinos, Elephants and Baboons.

Only that I booked too short.

The lodge is comfortable, very clean and well located inside the Reserve. Staff is friendly without being intrusive. Food was excellent- with the right portions considering you are having three meals a day without exercising. Game-viewing was great, including hard-to-see leopard and black rhino.

Many roads in Welgevonden Game Reserve are not practicable during the wet season, so one tends to be restricted with respect to where game drives can take place. The Lodge also does not (yet) have an electric generator, which would be useful considering power outages can be frequent in SA. Finally, bush walks could be made available on top of drives.

C’est un endroit magnifique et exceptionnel sur tous les points. Le programme des safari est parfait et très bien organisé. La nourriture est excellente ! Un grand grand bravo au chef et à son équipe. Tous les repas étaient exquis,copieux et goûteux. Le personnel est juste extraordinaire ! Tout est fait pour que nous soyons à l’aise et que le moindre de nos besoins soit satisfait. Il s’agit sans conteste du meilleur lieu pour un safari d’exception ! Les véhicules de safari sont très confortables. Ne vous fier pas aux avis négatifs et allez-y sans apriori.

Les chambres ne sont pas sécurisées: on ne peut pas fermer à clef et surtout elles ne disposent pas de coffre-fort. Difficile de manger en extérieur car beaucoup trop d’insectes.
