Cedar Lodge With Hot Tub

Beautiful, peaceful setting. Well equipped and comfortable lodge with the added bonus of a gorgeous hot tub. Perfect getaway.

Was difficult to contact reception after check-in when WiFi wasn't working. Had to wait until 2nd day to get resolved.

The only criticism I have is that there was no condiments in the kitchen which I think is a basic when self catering.

Good location the lodge was clean and tidy, the hot tub was hot and ready for use.

Unfortunately the lodge is not really big enough for four adults, especially the twin room which would be better suited to children. The beds were uncomfortable in all rooms with springs in the double bed making lots of noise and having no support. There are reviews which mention a smart TV and netflix - this is not the case the TV was small but ok however the signal from the aerial was not great so kept dropping in and out plus the remote for the TV didn't always work. The top Q&A about the price for a dog to stay states £20 - my mistake for not reading further down but this is now £30 and seemed excessive for our two night stay with a tiny chihuahua. The site is very dark on a night and difficult to navigate in a vehicle due to a number of the lights on the roadways being broken, this was also an issue as after we had booked we were sent a message to say we could only have one car at the lodge and the other would need to be parked at reception which was a couple of minutes walk. The walk for two fit and health adults was at least five minutes and we were in a lodge close to the reception - you required a torch for this walk as it was so dark in places you could not see where you were going and passing vehicles were dangerous. The night before our stay ended we were also sent a message to make sure all the beds were stripped before we left - this is not something we have ever been asked to do anywhere else we have stayed.
