Springwell Lodge With Hot Tub

The size was good and was comfy

The walk in wardrobe carpet was wet as the shower leaked There was lots of stains on the main carpet in the lounge and the lights were poor on the outside hardly any worked which made walking around the wooden varanda hard for the older people was suppose to get a email by 4 on With instructions how to get the key this did not come through till gone 5 pm

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY! THE OWNER WANTS TO FIND A NEW MANAGEMENT. The management at this place is disgusting. I recommend to never ever book this property as you are left in a unsafe environment with no one around to contact. They have an “out of hours number” which does not answer!

I booked this lodge for a special occasion in which it was my partners birthday. On arrival we noticed the carpets in the hall way were soaked. We rang reception in which a lady came out and told us the wetness we could feel was “carpet cleaner”. We then woke up the Saturday morning to notice the radiators has puddles under and that the carpets were not dry. When we went too check the boiler there was hot water running down the pipes causing the boiler to smoke. We rang the receptionist 7 times and left 2 messages to get no answer. We had Flamingo land booked on this day to which we spent half the day trying to sort this out. We went down to reception in which no one was there. There was a number on the door to ring. When we rang that number a gentleman came who just did the maintenance for the park. He explained the lodge had a huge leak a couple days before our arrival and said that “the lodge should have been condemned”. “condemned” !!!!! this word made us feel sick in the stomach with worry knowing that all our belongings were in a condemned property and that we were left to sleep in this lodge. This gentleman then got onto the manager of the Malton Grange Park and he was no help what so ever. He offered we moved lodge, when we arrived to this lodge it was no where near up to the standards of the current lodge we had paid to stay in. It was old fashioned, dirty and small. This lodge was no where near up to the standard of what we had paid for and expected to be staying in. We got told that someone would be in touch and if we didn’t want to stay in that lodge there was nothing else they could do. We rang for the rest of day and Sunday and still had no reply. We were left in a freezing cold lodge and scared to go to sleep incase the issue got worse. This special occasion trip turned into the worst experience ever! The property are now taking ages to get back to booking.com about a refund and are trying to refuse to give me my money back!

the location was superb.

it was dirty, a leak was flagged to reception from the day of arrival as it had soaked through the floors in both the main hallway and master bedroom closet- no one has come back to me still or returned my calls and messages left the reception office.

Very nicely decorated, just such a shame that it wasn't clean at all. Staff at reception were helpful enough, but couldn't supply us with anything. We asked for a fan for our 10 month old baby because the lodge was far too hot for her to sleep and got told they didn't supply anything like that. The lodge was in a decent location and the hot tub was nice.

The lodge wasn't clean at all, our baby was picking up hairs off the carpet when crawling about, there were stains all over the carpets. None of the dishes or cutlery were clean, pots and pans had black stuff stuck to the bottom. There was one dish towel to last us a whole week. We went to reception to ask for a hoover to help keep the mess down with having the wee one with us and got told that if it wasn't inside our lodge then it wouldn't be supplied because the owner is responsible for that. For the price of these lodges, it certainly wasn't worth the money

The property was very spacious

The hot tub wasn’t private. The property had things broken when we arrived which we took photos of.
