Springwell Lodge With Hot Tub

We booked a family get away to take the kids to Flamingo land. This place was amazing, it's so spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. It was great to come back after walking around Flamingo land all day and relax in the hot tub.

Not a major issue, however would have been good if there was a gate on the decking area.

The hot tub was a great addition to the weekend, set at a great temperature. However, it did not get cleaned every day like the contract said and I don’t think there was any chlorine in it. The inside of the lodge was very spacious.

To start with, there were no cleaning appliances left and cooking appliances were very low, not even any oven gloves that meant I burnt my hands. There was no plug for the bath so that couldn’t be used and the spare duvet for the sofa bed was stained with blood and mud. On our second night the boiler did not work so we were left without eating, showering and had no heating. The experience we had over the weekend was shocking and not worth the money, 2 out of 3 of our evenings got ruined as the first night we were sent the wrong details for the lodge so someone else was in it. We were very lucky to find a member of staff on site as they were not answering their emergency line.

Location and cleanliness was fantastic. Cosy and warm.

The oven took an age to cook anything as the door wasn't sealed. The oven door kept springing shut, which resulted in my husband burning himself on his hand and arm. The spark for the oven kept sparking when ignition was not pressed. The kitchen could have been a little better equipped maybe some tongs, another oven tray and tea and coffee provision? This is not a complaint, it's an observation and pointing out possible safety issue with the oven. I did report it when we got back, but didn't hear anything.

The only problem that we had was the separate shower cubicle and the water being extremely hot, this was reported and looked at by the maintenance staff and the fault rectified, however the next morning when trying to use the shower the water again was unbearably hot. This resulted in the whole family having to use the other shower over the bath in the main bedroom.

The lodge is fabulous, it’s spacious, clean & comfortable. I went with my partner & our 7 month old baby, she is crawling & was happy playing & moving around in the lodge! We cooked some meals in the lodge & also ate out. There is a full size fridge/freezer too which was helpful! The hot tub was a great bonus. We had day trips out to Eden Camp, Whitby & York during our 4 night stay. There were a couple of little things we noticed, in the lodge, that needed some TLC, we told the staff looking after the lodges & they were rectified that day, fantastic customer service. We definitely recommend!

there needs to be a gate on to stop the dogs getting out, maybe in the part where the hot tub is i also think a £200 breakage deposit is a little harsh and also the extra charges for this that or the other if you say park on grass, extra cleaning ( i always leave as found) especially when i had to pay the £45 cleaning fee in the begining.
