Grunberg Haus Inn & Cabins

Duane was the ultimate host of his B & B. The Grunberg Haus is totally eclectic. Whatever any guest needed he was there for them. His breakfasts were savory and flavorful.

We absolutely LOVED this place. The breakfast was excellent, better thank any other Airbnb that I can recall and the location was perfect, close to everything. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. This airbnb had cabins and a main lodge, we stayed in the main lodge and were very comfortable. We enjoyed interacting with the owner Duane, he was so friendly and would hang out with everyone in the evenings just to chat. The decorations were very interesting. I would highly recommend staying here especially if you are traveling with pets.

There isn't a large parking area, it got a little tight when all of the guests were there.

Amazing! Duane our host was amazing, so welcoming and cool. He did a great cooked breakfast each day on top of the continental breakfast. The dogs are great and don't get in the way or too noisy if you don't like dogs. The music that is played gives a great atmosphere. This is only ever between. 8am -10pm so you know it will then be quiet after that. The owners also helped us lots when our hire car wouldn't start so thank you. They have amazing items in the inn and a great collection of music. The pool table is a bonus. The area is perfect and great for seeing places like Stowe if you have transport.

Nothing, we knew what to expect and this topped it.

The breakfast was outstanding. I loved the quirky, eclectic decor throughout the room and the common areas. I would enthusiastically,100% recommend this place to certain people. The hosts were wonderful, including Neko and June!

The primary reason for not giving top scores across the board is accessibility. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone with mobility issues, especially for the upper floors. The steep stairs and uneven floors could certainly be a hazard. I would also suggest better lighting for a reading area.

Wonderful quiet stay. Not for everyone. This is very rustic. We were in one of the cabins. Quiet and disconnected was perfect. And when we wanted more we could go to the main building for Wi-Fi pool games and music If you are more of a 5 star resort person this may not be for you. If you like real people, comfortable beds, interaction with other guests and killer good Morning coffee then this might be a fit. We’d stay Again.

We enjoyed the evening in our cabin eating around the chest at the foot of the bed, listening to the albums on the record player provided. It was pouring raining on the tin roof to fall asleep. A perfect evening!

Friendly. Good location. Great breakfast. Very thoughtful amenities.

The property owners were warm, friendly and welcoming. They accommodated us arriving super late and helped us in every way we needed. They gave us tips on where to eat and what to see as well as made us vegetarian breakfast. This truly is a magical place and I can’t wait to see this place in the winter.

I’ll start off by saying that we’re already planning to return! I usually add this tidbit at the end of my reviews (if it applies), but I thought I’d lead with it this time. Grunberg Haus is a charmer - I fell in love with the thoughtful decor immediately. You can feel the passion that was poured into every detail. And that brings me to Duane: DUANE CARES. You can sense it immediately. He is genuine, attentive and exudes good energy. On top of that, he puts together an awesome breakfast. Again, you can see the care that he puts into assembling every plate. Our room was clean, cozily decorated and had a small shower (nice water pressure, always hot). My husband loved the shampoo & conditioner provided, which isn’t often the case when traveling! The resident dogs enhanced our stay also … and the pool table was fun after a day of being out and about. Duane, we hope you made it to the Metallica concert!
