Mao Mao surf

The huts and the surfer vibe. Really laid back and the fact that they only have 6-7 houses makes it a tiny community. The covered outdoor shower is a really nice feature. Lastly, the food! Best smoothly bowl we had sofar.

It’s difficult to explain it in words. It was my third time and I will repeat for sure. The rooms are perfect, they have a bamboo bathroom that you will miss when you leave. It's like being in the jungle but, of course, everything is super clean because every day the staff cleans the rooms, toilets, and the whole space. There is no worker in Mao Mao that brings you good vibes. They make you feel at home, welcome you with a smile and take care of you as well as they can. Youwill find a menu for every situation! Have you spent 3 hours in the sea surfing? order yourself a Pirate Sandwich. Do you want something healthier? Ordered a Green Wave Bowl. Surfing with Mao Mao guarantees you go to the best surf spots on the Island with the best conditions. Mike, Pali, Elton and the other instructors know the perfect time and place so you can enjoy the experience 100%. Cara and Marcos have done a great job and it shows. CONGRATULATIONS! If you're thinking about it, don't wait any longer!!!!

This place is the chill vibe you need when on Siargo. Just a short bike ride away from general Luna and cloud nine. Right in the middle of both. They whole environment is perfect and the rooms were so lovely. The food they serve from 7:30-3 is amazing and perfect if you are vegetarian/vegan. The chill area is great and has strong wifi. Cute dogs<3 Ien is also a bonus touch, everyone who worked there was so helpful and made for a pleasant stay.

Not much! Honestly the only things I would mention is the shower was either cool or really hot but you don’t really need a shower that’s hot on Siargo and we took the surf lesson which were good but would of thought there was a bit more coaching involved in the price. But I got sick so I wasn’t able to do more days so I’m sure that was just the first day of surfing.

Did not expect so many bugs but not controllable

Mao Mao is a beautiful accomodation, it makes you feel right in the middle of nature, with all the comforts you need. Cara and her team are ready to assist you on booking surf classes, tours, give you great island recommendations, and they have the most amazing pancakes and mango smoothies, you need to try them!

Rooms very tastefully done. The breakfast menu with fresh smoothie bowls & pancakes are next level! The private surf lessons we took were amazing. The surf instructors are lovely, very patient and goes into the water with you.

Everything was perfect, but we would have stayed longer if the bungalows had air-conditioning. It gets a bit hot during the day with just a fan.

Loved the set up and the bungalows!! Lovely staff and aesthetic place!! Easy to rent a motorbike with the hostel and the breakfast food was amazing!! Would love to come back!!

Excursion trip booked via hostel wasn't what we expected (external company). Transport to the hostel in van (external) didn't have change so we paid double for transportation there. Location slightly out the way so need a motorbike to get around.

The accommodation was really great. I loved the rustic feel of the huts and the bamboo showers were really fun. Comfy beds and the fans were enough at keeping you cool at night. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Always on hand for advice on things to go do and see. Food was DELICIOUS 😋.

The only thing would be it'd be nice to have cooled soft drinks on offer. As a non beer drinker, this was the only option, but they dont mind you bringing your own and happily giving me glasses of ice

We liked the laid-back style of the huts - they were cute! Food was also okay!

Unfortunately we were really disappointed with this place even though we read a lot of Good reviews. We spent 3 nights there and we wished we had not booked so many nights in advance. The first night we almost did not sleep since there was a loud party right next to our hut. Also the heat was terrible and the fans did not help. Also the bathroom door didnt close properly so it kept hammering against the Wall all night. The following nights there were no parties, just the heat, Barking and howling dogs and what sounded like an army of frogs right outside (be aware where you step in the Dark). We also did not experience the same friendly vibe as everywhere Else we went (with the exception of one receptionist and the male owner) - when we checked out they didnt ask about our stay and didnt say goodbye. They also charged us an extra fee even though the booking said all fees were included. We were very relieved to move on to our next hotel which was same prize but a 2-floor villa by the beach with a/c and the friendliest people ever.
