Marshlands Lakeside Nature Retreat

Nice setting in front of the mobile home, by the water and being visited by the birds. Even better to be able to feed them with the food provided. Cosy lounge area with comfortable chairs. Warm and with an extra heater.

The bed was a bit hard and squeaky and the bedrooms very small. Walls between areas very thin. The property is rather messy behind the mobile home. Expensive for the type of accommodation.

Hosts were lovely and the views were stunning.

Few issues with the electricity. Had no power for most of the stay which was disappointing and hard with a toddler in toe. Although this was the second time staying and I had no issues previously.

The location is just the best!! The views are so lovely and it's so peaceful. All you can hear is wildlife absolutely bliss. We loved meeting the owners and there animals and loved our regular visitors the ducks, Geese and various other lovely birds ☺️

Unbelievable setting friendly and a lovely place to stay

The location was lovely! There were ducks, chickens, sheep, guinea fowls and horses nearby which added to such a nice stay. The view of the Humber Bridge in the background was great.

I definitely wasn't expecting such a lovely, peaceful, relaxing retreat just across the water from the hustle and bustle of Hull - absolutely fabulous. The accommodation is a wonderfully appointed static caravan in the heart of a nature reserve. As well as being greeted by the wonderful owners the welcoming party also included guinea fowl, geese, ducks, chickens and moorhens - best welcoming party ever! The caravan comes complete with bird feed and these guys are well aware of that so will also be waiting at the door when you get up in the morning. The caravan was clean, comfortable and spacious and the views over the nature reserve and across the Humber Bridge were wonderful especially at dusk. Barton Upon Humber has plenty of places to get something to eat and if you don't want to make breakfast in the mornings there's a great café a short walk away from the accommodation. All in all this is a fantastic place which I would recommend to anybody wanting a great value, relaxing place to stay.
