Greenfire Game Lodge

All perfect. Concept ofa small lodge and trips in very small groups is specially attractive.. Guide Ishmael absolutely brilliant knowing how, where, and when to find the animals. By all means the experience (four nights) was worth it.

Everything was perfect

e had a great time at Greenfire Game Lodge and definitely recommend to stay there! The chalets are very modern and stylish (even better than the pics); all having a terrace facing the river where often animals walk by. The food was excellent and the staff very nice. One evening we had an African barbecue which was great (the other evenings is was too cold to sit outside). We made the game drives and a bush walk with Given who is a very engaged and experienced guide. He is very mindful about the animals and the nature, e.g. we appreciated that there is no off-road driving to protect the animals. We saw the big 5 and also wild dogs and - for sure - a lot of other animals. On most of our drives we were only the four of us, i.e. they do not "fill-up" the cars up to the last place. Very nice! Carol and Nigel, the owners of the lodge, stay there and we had a lot of nice and interesting conversations.

Our safari there was unforgettable! Not only did we see an abundance of wild animals on the game drives, we could also watch animals from our private balcony and the pool and even got visited by an elephant wandering around the lodge. All staff was very welcoming and our guide Given was truly amazing. We did see the big 5 within just 5 game drives. Most of the animals were a whole lot closer than we ever hoped for. Given was very knowledgeable and did tell us so many interesting bits and pieces about wild life and life in South Africa. We enjoyed our time there so much that we even extended our stay by one more night. Definitely recommend!

A beautiful spot in a private reserve, with views of elephants, monkeys, giraffes, many bird species etc from your room and balcony. Very relaxing around the pool and on the terrace. Really warm and welcoming staff, who made it feel like home from home. The game drives were also overall the best we had during our time in Kruger - it was refrefreshing to go so offroad and get so close to the animals, and our guide Victor was a legend

I think, for the price and given the tap water was not nice to taste, bottled water should be included. Other lodges of a similar price also offer drinks from the bar as part of the package But that didn't take away from a magical experience

Wow - didn’t disappoint. Fantastic hosts and staff. Room was beautiful and being able to watch animals right outside was so entertaining I had to keep putting my book down! Wonderful food, plenty of it- and accommodating on diet requirements. Wonderful to have a Boma night too. Brilliant safari guide - Given. Very knowledgeable. Made all guests feel like part of a family and we had great fun. Elephants, monkeys and hyenas all on your doorstep! Thought not having tea and coffee and WiFi in rooms would be an issue for us but actually it meant we all socialised in the main lounge, veranda and pool area making it a much better visit.

Being utterly picky - I still can’t think of anything. It was the perfect stay and safari.

the hotel is amazing, right inside the savanah! the team is great everybody is extremely polite and they do everything to make you feel comfortable. Loved It. our driver/ ranger (Given) showed us everything with explanations and did everything he could for us to see the big five. Everything was perfect, the food, the room, the games ans the team.

I Think that a mini fridge inside the bedroom would be a good improvement

What a pristine paradise! Carol and Nigel together with the whole team were the perfect hosts! We stayed 7 nights and every moment was a true pleasure. Victor is an extremely knowledgeable and respectful safari guide. We learned a lot from him. We saw all big five on the first day and were able to really enjoy all the other animals in the following days. There is sooo much more to see than only the big five, that's my personal learning. The villas with direct view on the water hole are exceptional. 'Bush TV' runs 24/7! We are vegetarians and the chefs catered to our needs in a very creative and tasteful way. I am very positive that we will return and we are already looking forward to revisiting paradise!

The staff was so welcoming and looked after our every need. We were very fortunate to see so many incredible animals. Lucky to see all the Big 5. It didn’t feel crowded and you were not competing with other lodges when viewing the animals. Game Guide was fabulous and really added to the experience. Can’t wait to go back!

A hot tub would have been fun. Have an option to eat with the other guests at a big table. That way you get to meet and interact with people from around the world. Option to attend a conservation talk. I always like to learn new things on vacation.

No words can really describe how unforgettable and breathtaking our time here was. We were here for 4 days and experienced an incredible amount - moments that we will never forget. The hosts/owners and all the staff at the lodge are simply enchanting, they are authentic, very close to their guests, attentive and very keen to make your time with them an experience. The safari trips were great, we were lucky enough to see many wild animals and the knowledge of our guide Ismael made the whole experience complete. We are humbled and grateful that we were able to be part of this unique nature for a few days and that it showed itself from its best side. But even on safaris without many animals, there was a lot to discover. The birds, the bush etc. are worth every trip. We also met great people there, enjoyed good food and switched off. Not only was the welcome on arrival and the farewells warm, but we were greeted personally by the owners after every safari - thank you. Our lodge right on the riverbed - wow. While you're lying in bed or sitting on the terrace, you might be lucky enough to see animals drinking at the waterhole or monkeys in the trees. The property was off the beaten track, in the middle of nowhere - which was fantastic. You felt immersed in to the bush. The buildings blend in with their surroundings, allowing the wildlife to roam freely. The food was incredible, first class and every meal we had was great. Carol, and her staff were very attentive, and welcoming. Victor our safari guide was brilliant, his knowledge of the bush made for a better experience when tracking down the Big 5 and all of the other animals the reserve has to offer.

Nothing, it was an exceptional stay.
