Moon Forest Apartments

Nice apartment overlooking the forest. Could do with more equipment in the kitchen, reasonably clean.

Moon Forest Lodges are located close to the Butterfly Garden (400m walk. The hill is a bit steep so people with mobility issues should drive rather than walk.), one of the ecological reserves, restaurants, supermarket and the main view points to watch the spectacular sunsets over the Nicoya Peninsula. Paulo was very helpful and hospitable as well as speaks very good English (which is a plus in Costa Rica.). The accommodation is fairly basic but comfortable and enabled me to prepare my own meals to suit my dietary requirements and budget. The apartment that I was in also had a lovely view down the valley to the West.

They are building new accommodation close by so the the sound of construction was a little disruptive at times but that just inspired me to stay out sightseeing more. As mentioned in other reviews, the equipment in the kitchen was pretty basic, and as is common elsewhere, the only "sharp" knife was pretty blunt. There is no air conditioning so if the windows have been closed all day, it was quite warm in the afternoon, but there was ample cross flow ventilation so lack of A/C was not a deal breaker for me.

Loved this apartment. Tucked away with beautiful views of rainforest. Perfect to chill on balcony and listen to the insects/birds etc. Paulo was very helpful in sorting tours and transport out.

The setting was nice and the apartment was spacious

The bed was a bit uncomfortable. We had to pay in cash which we didn’t know about. The shower is low pressure. No broom to clean. Only one plate for breakfast and one pot for cooking. Loved hearing the monkeys in the morning but didn’t see them. Would be great to update the linen as one sheet had a hole in it. No air conditioning. All in all a great stay but it just needs a few things for it to be amazing.

The apartment is new, artistically decorated, and clean. I loved the balcony that looks onto the forest. Excellent bird watching! Paulo was very friendly and helpful. Great value!

could do with a thorough cleaning.windows sills dusty. Single bed hard
