Cougar Monteverde

This property is gorgeous! The house is very spacious and was clean and modern. Great showers! Wonderful stay! It was lovely that Netflix was logged in as we weren’t feeling well one night and just stayed in.

The trees scratching on the house can be quite loud on windy nights and the wall between the neighbor is quite thin and everything can be heard. Some instructions about how to use the induction stove would be helpful!

This was our second time staying at Cougar as we absolutely loved it the first time. The property is spacious, modern and very clean. The master bedroom has a balcony which we sat on every day and night and watched the birds and the stars. We saw Toucan's, hummingbirds, wrens and many more. The location is very peaceful. There is a farm close by selling fresh produce along with a night tour and dinner. Our host Maria is wonderful. Very attentive and just a beautiful human.

We had a wonderful stay here! The home is beautiful and Maria was an incredible hostess. She helped us arrange our Zip Line experience, gave us fantastic advice on where to eat and was always available to answer questions.

The property was incredible. The home felt brand new, it was extremely clean. It is up the hill from Monteverde and it feels like you’re in the jungle. The host was incredibly accommodating and sweet. She even left us a bottle of champagne. We look forward to staying here again, it was our favourite place we stayed in Costa Rica. There were even monkeys outside the bedroom deck in the trees.

This is no fault of the hosts but when it is windy it is so extremely loud with the branches hitting the roof and other wind noises that it made it impossible to sleep.

Fantastic apartment/house, comprising both floors of the pictured property, with two double bedrooms and en suite bathrooms, each with its own private balcony affording gorgeous views of the country side. View of the jungle from the main shower was amazing. There are also several large leather sofa's at least one of which looked to be a sofa-bed, so this place would be great for families or two couples with one or two kids. The kitchen is enormous with an induction hob and plenty of equipment to cook properly and large American fridge/freezer. Dining table. Large flat screen TV which we did not use. The property is located round the bend from 100% Adventures, one of the companies offering ziplining, hanging bridges walks and so on. It is a few minutes' drive to Santa Elena for groceries, restaurants, pharmacy etc - but not really walkable, certainly not at night due to road conditions. Maria was very communicative throughout. Entry to the property is by key code which Maria will send you just before arrival. You will need a car to stay here and be prepared for unpaved bendy road for the last few kms.

Only very small point is that the sheets were some kind of polyester blend plus a mattress protector so a bit "slippery" would have preferred 100% cotton. Could do with sharpening the knives in kitchen, but didn't bother us as I always bring my own!

A modern, clean, and roomy duplex.

Would have appreciated a couple of extra hand towels, as drying a used one was impossible. It's on a very busy dirt road, so earplugs are mandatory or you will get no sleep.

The house is big and clean. The location is also very convenient. The host is also very enthusiastic about introducing local restaurants and tour guides. The reply message is very timely.

The bed is a little small, and the two women are a little crowded in the same bed. After staying for two days, everything went well until the last moment, my child, a girl in her twenties, sat on the desk and chair in the master bedroom. The armrest of the chair suddenly broke, and my daughter fell to the ground. When we left, we informed the owner. What made us unhappy was that the owner told me that the chair was $94. I didn't say much, so I told the owner that I could pay for it. I don't know if it's a quality problem with this chair. Should I pay for it?
