"Beautiful relaxing stay"

9.0

Absolutely stunning view and an amazing place to relax and take a break from the real world. The woodfire was amazing and warm and the couches comfy to snuggle in. Big house with a lot of privacy and great value for money. Highly recommend packing some DVDs, books, board games (they have some there too) because you'll be internet free for the trip! We got to see kangaroos, deer and emus which was such a nice surprise. The property is a little bit dated but that's part of the charm.

Not so much cons but things to be aware of: Very limited reception (some okay spots near the bbq) so make sure to save maps for offline use before heading there. The roads around are pretty rough especially in the rain. Unsealed roads with a lot of potholes - would be most comfortable in a 4wd. The check in process could be a little smoother - we were a bit confused as the door bell wasn't working and we had no reception to call.

"A beautiful remote property in the Grampians where families can relax and explore."

10.0

Beautiful location with stunning views, and we had permission to explore the property. The place was cosy once the fire was going. There were lots of books and maps on walks, the Grampians, bird life, star gazing, flowers, local history.

I think the following should be communicated to visitors before they boom and arrive. We were asked to remove our own rubbish with little detail about where to find bins, and no decent rubbish bags or compost heap was provided. There were used bread/ food bags from previous visitors in the kitchen draw. We didn’t go into town everyday. This resulted in us having leaking bags of rubbish in our car, mainly from compost. I think considering the cost of the place the hosts should manage this. Please consider a compost heap at least. You have a shovel for the fire, why not have one for compost? Mixing bowls, measuring cups and spoons, large salad bowls, large jug would be useful. We brought our own bread machine, slow cooker, waffle pan, French oven, measuring cups and spoons etc. if we hadn’t we would have been stuck. There are frying pans and saucepans. If visitors plan to eat in town everyday, or if they bring prepared or packaged food they’ll be ok. Also, the single beds in one room were flimsy and collapsed under one of our adults when he sat on the edge of the bed. Luckily he wasn’t holding his baby at the time.

"A relaxing family holiday in a stunning location. Pure bliss!"

10.0

What’s not to like? A spectacular view in a peaceful and quiet location. The accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable with everything we would want. We went for long walks around the property each day and enjoyed seeing the kangaroos, wallabies and emus. A fire to sit by at the end of every day was very welcoming. We loved it and will be back!

We loved everything.

"The perfect place to get away - would definitely come again!"

The location was breathtaking, the labyrinth was fantastic. The scenery was off the scale! Beds were comfy and the wood fire was perfect in the cold weather. The hosts were very friendly and helpful … and the local wildlife was amazing!

"Wonderful isolated stay with access to the Grampians and Hamilton etc not that far away."

9.0

Quiet bush/farmland location

Unfortunately it is so isolated there is no internet coverage. So if that worries you then be prepared for a step back into the past. Mobile phone coverage very spotty too. Sometimes worked outside. Otherwise this is a beautiful, restful location at the end of a bush track coming off the Halls Gap/Hamilton Rd. We did it in a 2 wheel drive sedan but it had been dry at the time. Not sure about wet weather access. Mind the wildlife on the way!

"A special, very Australian place to stay!"

10.0

The location is beautiful. It feels a bit remote when you first arrive, especially if you're from Europe, but you are experiencing the real Australia with wallabies and emus dotted around the surrounding fields. The hosts were exceptionally kind and understanding, especially in light of my wife becoming quite ill towards the end of our stay.

The weather!
