Blue River

Personal little touches set this property apart from other chalets and rental houses. Our host left a fully stocked kitchen with juice, milk, eggs, bacon, bread, fruit, etc. The sauna is easy to use, cupboards and hangers plentiful, and everything worked well. We roasted marshmallows and sausages in the garden and even caught a faint aurora from the bedroom window! Our host was very responsive, friendly and helpful. The property is a short walk to Ounasvaara Ski Centre which is where we spent our days. It’s shorter than it looks on the map, and the house is also more easily located than I expected. It sits on a quiet suburban street but not so quiet to be deserted. There are other chalets closer to the ski resort but I’m glad we chose this one. A bit further away and more expensive but totally worth it!

The place was excellent and clean. The house was warm up before our arrival. Tarja had prepared some food in the fridge for us. She is very responsive and friendly. Will come back again when we visit Finland.

It can't feel any better to finish a cold day in Rovaniemi and go in Blue River. It really feels like home. Everything is perfect. Terja is a super, super host. The location is great if you have a car and the house is warm and cozy.

You might think the price is a bit high but I'll tell you why it is worth it. We stayed for 3 nights in this house with 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, sauna, private yard, parking. You get in the house and it feels just like home. Cozy, decorated with great taste, everything you can possible need. The host left instructions for everything like how to use the sauna, the fireplace, where to find wood and also a welcome basket. In the back there is the lake, a fire pit and a tent where you can keep warm while enjoying the view of the forest. You just need to stay there and you will understand why I loved it so much. 5 minutes by car to Rovaniemi, 4 minutes to Lidl, 8 minutes to Santa's village, 10 to Santa's cave

It's a beautiful house contiainig everything you would need plus all the little extras to make it very warm and cosy. For us it was perfectly located, ie. far enough away from the city to enjoy peace and quietness but yet close enough to walk whereever we wanted to go: Skiiing, city centre, shopping, bus stops etc... We loved the sauna and the open fire grill in the back garden. Tarja was very helpful with every question we had - she even took me ice swimming and had built a wonderful snowman at the front yard.

Don't think there is anything we didn't like really.

We arrived late on Dec 19th and stayed 2.nights, it would have bwwn nice to stay longer. We are a family of 5, 3 kids {11.9.6} 2 adults it was perfect. The host was lovely, she left bacon, eggs and milk in the fridge, and bread, biscuits wine and other treats on the table, it was so nice to arrive to especially after a long flights. The house was lit up beautifully and very warm and cosy we were so comfortable. The garden is huge and the kids had a lot od fun in the snow the next day. The sauna was lovely and great to warm up in after being outside. There were 3 bedrooms, My 6 and 9 yr old shared a double bed a my 11 year old in another. We were very comfortable.

We liked it all.

The flat is extremely cozy and we felt like home during our stay in Rovaniemi. Location is awesome as it’s a residential area close to the city center (5 minutes driving). Also, the sauna inside the house is fabulous to recharge after a day spent at -20C°
