Casa DeL Mare Gili Air

Very nice service, Zihad is extremely helpful and attentive host. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and the whole villa is beautifully designed.

There is no swimming pool in the villa, only public pool nearby, which is not as well taken care of. But the sea is very close, so it wasn’t a big problem.

The location was good and the bed was comfortable.

It was not AT ALL what was advertised. The pictures looked amazing but they must have been taken about 10 years ago and nothing has been fixed or kept up since then. We were expecting towels folded in the shape of swans on our beds but instead there was mold everywhere, the walls were dirty, the garden was very run down, furniture was broken, sinks and toilets had leaks, very, very dirty, door handles to the rooms were held together with pieces of wood, broken glass, damp in the walls, some of the rooms had issues with ants, there was little to no housekeeping, we had to ask for the garbages to be changed and for toilet paper everyday. When we booked it was advertised as having a shared pool but that pool was a festering mess when we arrived...you would have gotten sick if you would have attempted to swim. That was very disappointing for our kids. The bungalows in the front of the property had been abandoned and the workers from the restaurant were living in them. Walkways were never cleaned, there was garbage everywhere and they were dumping garbage right outside our front doors. It was quite disgusting. This was by far the dirtiest place we have stayed in Indonesia. Everywhere else they start sweeping and cleaning at 6am but not here. I really wish other reviews were more honest. If they were we would not have stayed here. This accommodation is not at all what it seems. DO NOT BOOK HERE. If we were in our rooms napping or resting in the day we would wake up to staff (?) in our villa's outdoor space but they were not cleaning, just kind of hanging out. The whole experience was strange. When we arrived the host said that their machine was broken and that we would have to pay cash. We explained that that was not possible. Finally on day 3 the machine was working and they could process our payment. We honestly think that the owner may have abandoned this property and that a couple young guys are trying to pass themselves off as workers to try to earn some money.

The location was prime with easy access to everything

Loved the verandah and each room having own bathroom. There was a small kitchen which we stocked with fruit and yoghurt. This side of the island is perfect for sunsets and cocktails but not swimming but its a short bike ride to the fantastic snorkelling spots. I would choose the peace of this side of the island everytime. Not so crowded or noisy with late music. We had the pool to ourselves. Staff were incredibly hopeful and lovely.

Ummmm nothing! As long as you hire a bike and keep for the whole time you can explore everywhere easily.

Good location, close to lots of restaurants and close to beach.

Rare find on Gili Air. 4bdr villa is hart to find.
