The house is in a great location, Its very authentic and as an architect i found it to be a true masterpiece

Great location close to Kiyomizu-dera, Kodai-ji, and convenience stores. Full kitchen. Quiet neighborhood. Clean.

This accommodation is a true treasure as it has all the features of a traditional Japanese home and is located in the oldest part of Kyoto. The immediate area around the house is quieter than some others in Kyoto as it is a residential neighborhood, but is still an easy to walk to shrines, temples and quaint shops. The Ryozen museum is also within walking distance as was a traditional tea ceremony we attended at the Kimono Tea Ceremony with Maikoya at Gion Kiyomizu. They let us stay dressed in our kimonos for the remainder of the day, which was terrific because not only were there many photo opportunities in their own gardens, but also on every street and corner. Good to be aware though that there are a few places where photos are respectfully not allowed. Traditional Japanese restaurants are everywhere, but if you prefer something of a fusion with more western dishes try the Kyoto Bistro. It was the only place that asked whether there were any food allergies in the group!

The home wasn't totally clean when we arrived with dust everywhere, but the host had the cleaning crew come back to do a better job.

The reason I book this house is the kitchen to prepare food for my young kids. Kitchen is very limited equipped and would be helpful if they provide food scissor, kitchen cloth and dish wash sponge.

Beautiful and spacious. With a lot of charm. Great location, a close walk to everything. Our party stayed very comfortably.

While we were not able to check-in early, we were able to drop off our suitcases, and was really convenient (no need to use lockers at Kyoto station). Location of the house is great, it is in walking distance to Kiyomizu-Dera, right near busy tourist spots, but on quiet side street. There were a lot of restaurants right near the property, closest convenience store was in 5 minutes walk. Place itself is wonderful, we really enjoyed amenities inside of it, two small Japanese gardens, big bedrooms, bathrooms with views and details of the places. You really get a vibe of historic Japanese house in the place.

Place really needs a lot more cleaning, we experienced some troubles with leaking sink (solved by host) and lack of refills in bath soap and shower gel (solved by host). It could be a perfect stay, if we wouldn't need to contact host for these.
