Best experience I had in Seoul! The hanok was even prettier than the houses in the museum and it felt like staying at home with family. The hosts were so kind, they made me feel so welcome and comfortable. They helped me connect with local experiences in Seoul and took care of my every need. I will never forget their hospitality.

"Beautiful Hanok run by lovely family"

10.0

I absolutely loved my stay in this beautiful Hanok in the Hyehwa-dong district. The Hanok is beautifully maintained and run by an extremely kind and welcoming family. I stayed in a single bed room which was small but was well equipped and perfectly comfortable for me! Thank you for a wonderful stay, I hope to return to Seoul soon!

I chosen this accommodation hoping to experience Korean culture and interact with a local family. However, only one family member was present, and aside from check-in and check-out ( he has been nice and polite), there was no interaction at all. While it is clear from the photos that this is not a 5-star property, for the price paid I expected better overall conditions. The room and bathroom were very basic, and there is no shared kitchen or common area where guests can prepare coffee or tea—only a kettle with water provided in the room. I would have accepted these limitations if there had been a meaningful cultural or personal experience in return. Unfortunately, this aspect was completely absent, and as a result, the stay did not feel like good value for money ( at the least in my case and for my experience).

"A lovely stay in a beautiful and traditional hanok. Had a great time and our kids loved the place"

9.0

The building is super nice, tucked away in a quiet area, still with quick access to the metro and therefore the rest of the city. The owners were helpful in arranging things and kindly made some light breakfast bits for the kids.

Perhaps on the slightly pricier end but worth paying for a lovely stay. A lockable cupboard or something like that would be a good addition.

"Male host not welcoming at all"

4.0

Female host atleast tried to give some friendly gestures when she saw me.

If I look only at the room size and facilities for the price, the stay is quite expensive and not very comfortable. However, I chose this place because I wanted a hanok stay and a friendly, welcoming host, as mentioned on the website. For me, if a place makes you feel welcome, I can overlook some discomfort. I have traveled to many countries and experienced different cultures and languages. I understand the vibe of a place whether you feel welcome or not. I arrived about two hours before check-in to leave my luggage. The host initially acted friendly, but when I asked to use the toilet before going out, I had to insist twice. He kept saying the room was not ready and seemed reluctant to let me use even some other common toilet. The listing mentions about coffee machine. When I asked, I was told the kitchen was “not really for use,” except maybe boiling water, and only for long-term guests. The way he expressed it was like he does want me to use it even for boiling water. There was no coffee machine, only instant coffee powder. When I later used the microwave to warm food, the host watched me closely the entire time, which felt uncomfortable. I also tried to make friendly conversation and asked if he or his wife had time later to chat which he said no to which I understand. After checkout, I sat in the common outdoor area to eat breakfast while waiting for my taxi. In Seoul, waiting 40–50 minutes for an Uber is normal on weekends. During this time, both hosts were nearby, and the atmosphere felt tense and awkward. There was not much engagement. The wife offered to take some pictures of me while I was sitting, but the male host looked visibly impatient, as if waiting for me to leave. I also noticed him interacting much more warmly with other guests. When my taxi arrived, I said goodbye and thanked them. The wife came out to say goodbye. The male host stood beside her and did not even bother to turn and look and atleast act friendly while saying bye.

"Wonderful!"

10.0

Everything was wonderful. Very nice hosts. Made me feel very comfortable.

It wasn’t that I disliked anything. It’s more of wasn’t expecting bunk beds. Wasn’t an issue but I thought I would have a regular size bed.
