"Just perfect!"

10.0

Just perfect! Great hosts and great place. Easy to get to from everywhere. Close tube station. Just great

Pity they don't serve meals on a regular basis. The are great cooks! The single room is a bunk bed so, remember that.

"I experienced true KOREAN culture with my autistic toddler!"

10.0

There was so much that I loved about my stay here. I loved the hanok/home, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the owners & their family. I loved the area. I didnt want to stay in hotel because I wanted to FEEL Korea and experience the true Korean culture. Hotels are the same everywhere you go and it's very transactional. Kim (owner) and her entire family made me feel at home. It was like visiting a relative who cares about all your needs. I was traveling alone with my toddler (i know!) who is on the spectrum (i know!!! lol) and it was harder than I expected. But Kim & her entire family helped me with her. I didnt even have to ask- they were like family who just knows when to help. Even though this was a place she was renting out, she couldnt help but be her natural nurturing self. They held her, fed her, carried her while I ate, took her outside while I would get ready for the day, etc... They shared their food with me and sat around with me to talk. It was like TRULY visiting relatives. Her husband even went out of the way to walk me to the store down their street to get a bus pass and showed me where to go to eat. And although Im not religious, she invited me to her church to eat and celebrate their anniversary. She was very careful not to say anything that would offend me as she didnt know what my beliefs were. She invited me because I was sooo overwhelmed (to the point of crying) because my daughter had lots of meltdowns. She knew that my daughter would have fun playing with other kids and that I would be able to take a break for a minute. I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am for my stay and for her family. So, if you are looking for a true Korean culture experience and want to feel like home, I highly recommend staying at Eugene's hanok. My room was so small, cute and clean. We both slept sooo good. It was a single loft bed & Kim was so worried that we wouldnt fit and offered to upgrade me for free.

There was nothing that I did not like about this place or it's owner.

"Lovely time, felt like visiting distant family"

9.0

I can’t recommend Eugen Hanok Stay enough! I had the loveliest time there. The owners are an elderly couple and they (especially the lady) treated me like I was their family member - chatted with me every day, asked me about myself, took photos of me, made sure I was warm enough in my room, introduced me to other guests, brought me lotus flower tea every morning. I felt very welcomed and they made my stay in Korea so much more comfortable. The owners both speak English. The house is quite old fashioned but I think that it’s charm. It’s by no means luxury but you’ll feel comfortable and taken care of, and you’ll get to experience Korean culture.

The only thing I didn’t like were the showers - since it’s a Korean hanok, there’s no separate shower cabin or bathtub, you just have a shower attached to the sink, so you literally have to shower in the middle of the bathroom, splashing all over the sink and toilet if you’re not careful. It’s a bit of an inconvenience though I eventually got used to it.
