Chalet Villas Gerês

Very easy to find the location. The owner and her family were very welcoming and friendly. The house is surrounded by a small patch of orange and lemon trees. We were allowed to pick as many as we wished. Can imagine how nice it would be to have a BBQ here. The house gets warm quickly after the fireplace is lit, the ventilation system is excellent and there is no smoke in the house. We loved that small skylight in the upstairs bedroom. When you lie in the dark on a rainy day, a small part of the wall becomes a sheet of light with water flowing through it. Wonderful experience. If you read until here. There's a big difference between the restaurants in town. Stay away from the Casa Capela, the food is not eatable in my opinion. Lurdes Capela is a much better one at approximately the same price.

Ventilation could have been better

Our two-bedroom chalet was super comfortable for our 3-day stay, and everything worked well. It was a great base for hiking in the Peneda-Geres National Park. The swimming pool was heaven after a hot day of hiking. We loved the peace of this place and being able to fall asleep to the sound of the nearby river. The best part of our visit by far was the wonderful and genuine warmth and friendliness of Susanna and her husband, Tomas, who went out of their way to make us feel right at home. They provided us with great local and hiking information. We would definitely love to stay again and highly recommend these amazing hosts and lovely property to others.

We loved the perfectly situated chalet, the views, and the care the owners have put into welcoming us, thus making our stay highly memorable.

The chalet was just finished in 2022, is of great build quality, has good equipment and offers a nice pool. The owners run the place as a family business and are friendly and helpful. The National Park is just breathtaking.

The chalet is located right next to the street. Unfortunately you hear every car and sometimes even the wall is vibrating. Additionally you hear many noises from the neighbors. Natural light only shines through 2 small skylights and the glass front door. The pictures were taken with all the ceiling lights switched on, so we got a different impression. More and/or bigger windows and a better sound insulation could improve the experience immensely.

Everything was amazing. The location, the apartment, the atmosphere, the silence. I can't wait to come back again.

It was a lovely little villa with easy parking - clean and handy for the village

The location was great. Felt secluded but was an easy walk into the village. There are small supermarkets within walking distance and also a variety of restaurants too. We liked the restaurant at the top end of town - it was attached to a hotel and spa. We self catered a lot of our meals and the kitchen was well equipped for all cooking. We stocked up on supplies at the large Continente supermarket in Lanhoso - on our way there. A lot of thought has gone into the small touches etc. It was spotlessly clean! Susana and Tomas very friendly and welcoming. I needed medical attention and Susana helped me with organising that. Nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated the cheese and bottle of rose on our arrival. We liked the restaurant at the top end of town- the one attached to a hotel and spa. O The air conditioning worked really well and was needed as for the first two days it was over 38 degrees! Overall - a wonderful stay!

Nothing not to like

We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Susana and Tomás were incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly, they made our stay as comfortable as it could possibly be. The property itself is brand new and gorgeous, and the surrounding area of Gerês and beyond was just amazing to visit and explore. Very highly recommended.

I can't think of anything that could be better. It was a wonderful vacation.
