Villa Kandy

We had a fantastic 3 day stay at Villa Kandy. Chamara was brilliant- he provided impeccable service and is an absolute credit to your company. He looked after us from start to finish and made us feel very safe in the time he was around at the property. The house was peaceful, clean and relaxing. The pool was an absolute selling point and was cleaned regularly by Chamara. Some people have commented on privacy but we felt that the owners taking the time to come and say hi was a lovely touch and made us feel valued and looked after. The location wasn’t too far from Kandy at all but be aware that services such as ‘pick me’ take a while to accept pick up due to being based in the centre of town. I would consider the Villa’s own transport if you are thinking to get out and about. Families be aware that the living room is open and so if you’re travelling with children you will need to consider splitting your kids between adults for the rooms provided if your children are young. This wasn’t an issue for us as a family but just something to be aware of. The living room is open to the elements so that you can experience the beautiful scenery and pool and the nature we heard and saw was stunning. A few reviews have mentioned ants and other insects. I’m not a fan myself, but honestly what you see is what you get- you are in Sri Lanka, be open minded, take the scenery in, enjoy the nature a few ants are not an issue-please don’t let these reviews put you off.

Breakfast was amazing, the swimming pool just for us, the views and the location were very quiet and the staff was wonderful and very helpful.

Everything met our expectations

Travelling with a teenager, so the two rooms were perfect. Two rooms split with an open living room, which was comfortable and tidy. Kitchen was well stocked and the fridge/freezer was large, which was very useful. Breakfast was available everyday, as was an evening meal. We were only there for a few days, and were treated to some lovely home cooking on the night we arrived.

Nothing. The location is a little out of Kandy, but actually that works because Kandy can get really busy and noisy. Kandy is a short tuktuk ride.

Very kind owner arranged everything for us. We were very happy with this accomodation.

Wifi was a bit slow.

Nice secluded place. Even if you rent one room you get the whole place by yourself. Host is kind and always available to help. They arranged two delicious dinners for an amazing price.

On the property (or better at the back) there are two people that work for the owner and they live there. Sometimes they will show up to do some upkeep. Place needs a renovation. Lots and lots of ants. Some are normal for Sri Lankan standards, but pieces of the house are being eaten alive by the ants. Also, I would have loved to have the bigger room as I paid for the whole villa. Instead I just got the regular room. Small details that make the difference. I booked the place to have full privacy and some chill time. Even if this was explained to the owner by a local friend the message did not completely went through with the owner being there sometimes the whole day and just regularly popping in to check how everything was going.

Lovely swimmingpool! Clean rooms. Good communication with owner. Owner is very friendly and very willing to help with everything, he even took a ride to town to get us pizza's.
