JVG VILLAS - Villa Carolina

Lovely properly Definitely need a car to get there. We had a fantastic time The pool IS heated - which was a win! Unfortunately was quite cloudy on the days we were there and windy as the villa is based high in the mountains so could be quite chilly- but that’s our luck and not the property’s fault. The amenities were great and we had a grand time. Properly owner Carolina was available whenever we needed, via WhatsApp

There is NO oven- even though on the booking listing it states there is an oven. We were hoping to cook using oven but unable to There is also no mop, so difficult to sweep and clean throughout the time. The fridge had quite a bad smell.

Der geheizte Pool war neben der fantastischen Aussicht das Highlight! Wir haben die Zeit in dieser grosszügigen Villa sehr genossen! Viel Platz, eine wunderbare Terrasse mit Liegestühlen und allem was man braucht - einfach perfekt!

Ab und zu ein Duft von Hühner-Mist... damit kann man aber leben wenn man auf dem Lande wohnt. Da wir Morgenmenschen sind, hat es uns nur wenig gestört, dass die Sonne bereits um 16.00 (November) hinter den Hügeln untergeht.....

The outdoor area is nice and well equipped However, the pool is smaller than it looked in the advertising photos

OUR REVIEW IS A TRUE REPRESENTATION OF OUR EXPERIENCE We had high expectations and this villa fell well short The communication with the owner was poor (often not replying and not caring about the issues we raised) We experienced hunting dogs chained up below us and constant barking from them There was a quarry below us also using diggers and heavy machinery and lorries There was construction work behind us (only 10 feet away) which started at 8am and went on all day long up to 7.30pm We have video evidence but are unable to download to this review The villa is perched part way up a mountain and the walk into Guimar town is extremely hilly and littered with dog faeces the whole way The actual town of Guimar is not geared up for tourists at all - very few places to dine or drink out Be prepared for lots of lizards around the pool area with some coming into the property through small gaps under the door With regard to the property it was not as clean as we would have hoped for: we had a smelly fridge/freezer, all the handles on the kitchen units were filthy and sticky, the toaster was rusty, dirty and looked extremely old, the crockery and utensils were also dirty, the shower had mould showing between the tiles and surround There was no kettle and no oven and the TV channels were Spanish
