Bukit Surf Villa

Property was spacious and well appointed with the true Balinese feel. Lots of Bali & Uluwatu is turning into a sterile western paradise, Bukit Surf Villa is tucked away and has a classic aesthetic but with modern comforts. Great comms with Made, it was easy. Got to drop our bags early and collect them late - very accomodating. If we had a big group coming to Bali again we'd definitely stay here!

The villa itself is very beautiful and layer out very well.

Unfortunately there was a leak in the roof in one of the main detached villas next to the pool and there were puddles in the floor when we woke up. The electricity went off and took a day to come back on. The host, Made, was great however we asked to speak to the owner as we were disappointed about being unable to use the villa and he never rocked up. Unfortunately we believe this was ultimately the owners responsibility as we essentially unable to use one entire villa. The owner did not want to take responsibility. We will be making a formal complaint through booking.com as we would like a partial refund.

It's a nice, beautiful villa. The garden was nice; there's also Netflix and YouTube Premium. And ibu Made was really helpful.

1. There's a broken cable causing an electrical fault near the bathroom. When we asked the staff to check it, he received an electric shock. I saw sparks from the cable. Luckily, we noticed it. Imagine, I have a five-year-old child with me; it could have ended badly if we hadn't been paying attention. It's not a safe villa. Please conduct a safety inspection. 2. During our stay, there was a power outage. Almost all hotels or villas provide lights or candles, but we didn't find any. Luckily, Ibu Made checked on us and gave us one candle, but one candle is not enough for the whole villa. 3. The swimming pool is great, but the floor is broken and has sharp edges. 4. During our stay, there was heavy rain. There were leaks in the bathroom and bedroom. In my opinion, this villa needs renovation.

Location was great , shame about the villa , 2 of the 5 rooms smelt mouldy , we then found out why after rain one night one of the rooms was 4 inches deep in water Another room the roof leaked , both of these leaking rooms all luggage was then wet , staff did not seem to care The whole experience was very disappointing

The major issue was the pool, on arrival it looked ok , then on the second day we asked the staff to have the pool attended to, she did but all he did was thrown a bit of chlorine in - subsequently by day 3 the pool was completely green and we were then told we could not use the pool This also ruined the remainder of the holiday for 6 of us with major ear infections , unable to swim for the rest of the holiday and 2 people wound up in hospital having ears drained as severe infections Totally unacceptable, the staff just shrugged their shoulders
