Paparei Beachfront Bungalows, Aitutaki

Nice layout. Clean & tidy. Lovely hosts.

Airflow is blocked by the tree in front of the bungalow. It meant we couldn’t use the balcony because it was a heat trap. Also, the tree is blocking the direct view to the beach which wasn’t disclosed on booking. Photos just show the beach with no blockage of view.

We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at Paparei. The location and setting is spectacular, calm and private, with only one other bungalow beside you. The staff and owners are very kind and helpful e.g. calling a restaurant to book for us (Resort Tava'e - very good) and offering their reef shoes (do wear these in the water out front). The water directly out front was very calm when we were there, but also a bit murky as a result. We recommend taking a boat tour in the lagoon for the best snorkeling. We went with Kia Orana Cruises - great value for money!

Great facilities over all. The bed is a bit firm but comfortable - good to know in case you prefer a softer bed.

Right on the beach. Very private. Friendly welcoming helpful hosts. Walking distance to cafes.

The gardens and beach are beautiful. (The beach did not look good for swimming, though). It was quiet, except for the chickens, of course. There are no dogs, so no dogs barking in the night.

I had to share my accommodation with a big, and I mean big, cockroach, which startled me when I got up in the middle of the night. It scuttled around the kitchen, and later into the bathroom, and was very good at playing hide and seek. There was a gecko, too, (I like geckos), but I don’t think he was any match for this cockroach!

The beach was so beautiful! The location was excellent, total beachfront.The Bungalow was spotless and very comfortable. The banana lounges, shaded by palm trees, right on the beach were great! It felt very private. Our Hosts Vicki & Peter were so helpful, warm & friendly, we were sorry to leave. Thanks for a great stay. Helen & Kevin

We loved it all!

Paparei is a modern villa right on the beach ,nice outdoor deck area and inside it is modern and clean with heaps of thoughtful inclusions. There is a great coffee/ dinner shop only a very short walk from it. Staff are helpful and friendly

Well equipped self-catering unit. Really has everything you could need. Right at the waters edge. BBQ facilities available, but we did not get time to use it. Amazing views! Even had toys for little ones. Great hosts. Would recommend to anyone. Hopefully we can come back one day!

Wifi never worked (but we did not care) Shower was not great- water inconsistent going from a low flow to a tad bit stronger and then going from ice cold to boiling hot without touching the tap leaver. (Only an issue as I had to be extra careful with my 2 year old in the shower)

Katrina the daughter of the owners was absolutely unbelievable. There was a few technical issues when we arrived and she had them all sorted with a personal visit. She even took us to the shop to get some groceries, beautiful beautiful place to stay immaculate grounds out the front. There’s a swimming hole channel that’s just a few hundred metres up the beach overall could not fault. Across the road there is a fantastic little coffee shop for breakfast and they do lovely Asian food for dinner. Had the best sausage roll ever. Not really recommend this location and property.
