The Villa Salt Rock

The Villa is definitely a home from home. It's rustic and super comfortable. I have never been to another self-catering that offers more than everything, including 3 types of coffee and biscuits to go with it. The only thing that was not provided was personal toothbrush and past. We would definitely be going again

There was nothing I could fault. Not even the location

What a beautiful place. Warm and cozy atmosphere extremely well decorated and clean, with everything you may need. Lounge, hallway, 2 bedrooms, huge bathroom with a shower, and a stunning Xtra large and comfortable bed. The garden, private patio, and swimming pool area was beautiful and the fact that it was so close to the beach gave us everything we needed. We stayed for 5 days, but we should have just stayed there the whole time. Thank you Ian for sharing your beautiful villa with us.

There was nothing we did not like. Ian was an outstanding host and we wanted for nothing.

I booked this holiday with the intention of resting during the last trimester of my complicated pregnancy. For the first two days,we had no hot water to shower. We booked 6 nights at this villa and only found out after checking in that there would only be a cleaning service provided twice during our stay,we spent a lot of time cleaning up,doing dishes and making up beds. The owner has 3 dogs of which you hear barking from the early hours of the morning. These dogs randomly walk into the villa and loiter around. One morning, the dog jumped onto our bed with muddy feet,leaving dirty marks all over the sheets. The villa is dark inside as it hardly gets any natural sunlight ,so doors and windows had to be opened at all times. The packing space is minimal and very inconvenient as the villa provides old antique cupboards,which are falling apart. Since we booked in winter. The villa backed extremely cold at night, and we had to make use of the aircons ,which we were advised to only he used for 2 hours due to over usage when Eskom switches of electricity. 4 gowns were provided ,which had a musty,used smell ,and they had never been washed. The towels are not soft and feel very hard and uncomfortable to make use of. The cutting board was not clean and had to be rewashed and cleaned. We booked into this Villa on the Saturday 28th of June 2025 and were also provided with two toilet rolls amongst three of us and we had to drive to the nearest filling station to buy another two as the toilet paper was only replaced three days later. We sat down with the owner to express our displeasure and uncomfortable situation,and asked him if we could check out and find another place,we received a bad backlash and a very unpleasant attitude from Ian who informed us that he would not be refunding us,despite the massive inconvenience we were facing. We than,ended up finding another place to stay out of our own account,,and only ended up staying for 5 nights out of 6.

We loved the villa, it was very well appointed, roomy and comfortable. The added bonus was the wonderful tropical garden paradise.

The Villa Saltrock was extraordinary! We (my girlfriend and her parents and I) felt very welcomed and comfortable! The owner is very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect and very close to the beach. Everything was very easy and cozy. The Villa felt like a peaceful and spacious jungle retreat full of artwork right next to the beach ! Everything was tidy and clean. We were very happy with our choice and we would definitely book it again if we visit Balito the next time ! Gretting from Germany !

We we 100% happy. There was really nothing to complain about.
