Horizon Luxury Pool Villas Koh Tao

From the moment I booked this place the hosts were so accommodating and helped me with everything I needed. The place is beautiful and so private and it's better than the photos.

The attention to detail at the villa was exceptional. From having access to a moped to the use of a mobile phone for ordering take aways and taxis. When we arrived by ferry the owners came to meet us and arranged our transfer to the villa free of charge and also again on the return journey, which was really very kind. They went through the whole villa explaining how things work thoroughly. They have a book full of information about the villa, boat trips, local places to eat etc. which was very useful for our stay. The views over the bay from the pool and outdoor chill area are incredible, definitely the highlight of this place. Plenty of towels were provided and the bathroom facilities were great with 3 settings to use in the shower. Great facilities in the kitchen and they provide some nice drinks and snacks in the mini bar which you can either pay for at the end of your stay or just replace them easily from the local mini markets or 7-Eleven. The bed was super comfy and you even get some good views over the bay from the bedroom. The pool is a nice place to spend the mornings first thing and the evenings after a day exploring. Lots of butterflies and dragon flies to see around the pool area too. The living area is very cosy and you get access to movies to watch on the tv. The Horizon villa is highly recommended place to stay.

Only an issue because it was raining a lot and we got soaked when we were out. We needed some more places to hang wet towels, jackets, bags and swimwear etc. As it was raining we couldn’t really make use of the space outside to dry clothes off. Maybe a clothes drying rack would be useful for these instances.

Fantastic location, amazing views. The breeze at the top of the mountain and a dip in the pool is ideal after a long day snorkeling. They have done everything possible to make your stay as convenient as possible, even providing us with a phone to contact food delivery.

There was construction next door, it wasn't constant though and wasn't disruptive after we put some music on.

Lovely, very private apartment with beautiful views over the south east of Koh Tao. Alex and Franzi were very friendly and met us at the port, which was really helpful. They were also available to help anytime, which gave us peace of mind. The filtered drinking water was great. Free use of a scooter was ideal but also needed, as the apartment is up in the hills. Free use of a mobile phone with a local SIM card and several useful numbers already stored - fantastic. Mosquito nets on the window (although there were only mosquitos around when it rained). Takeaway menus were also provided which was helpful.

There was AC but only in the bedroom (fans elsewhere) and the AC was not very effective. The location can feel quite isolated when it rains (which it did a lot while we stayed - we didn’t want to risk going out on the scooter in the stormy conditions). For accuracy, there is no streaming service - it’s a hard drive with lots of films on. The WiFi wasn’t always reliable. Power cuts were quite common - we had 6 in one evening, but this was perhaps linked to the weather, and it wasn’t a big problem because the power came back on quite quickly. There are a couple of steps in the bedroom, so be careful going to the bathroom in the night!

This is the best villa I've ever stayed at for the money. Really unique villa, beautiful view, you have complete privacy. The owners were incredibly welcoming and happy to help out in any way. As soon as you arrive here you understand why the villa has a 9.9 rating on booking.com :)
