Duna Colorada

It's a very nice place to stay, we felt really comfortable. The location is great, we went by foot to Lajares and it was a nice 20min walk. I think the price is appropriate and you get what you pay for. Communication is also good.

Our initial experience was so bad that me and my girlfriend decided to stay the first night in a hotel room and try to find another house for the rest of our vacation. However, Lajares is the place were you want to stay during your location. People a kind and welcoming and the food is amazing! Especially the Italian restaurant "La Cancela".

There is not enough space to cover everything so I'll try to capture the most important points: - The provided pictures suggest that the house and its interior look newer than it is. - The owner of the property needed a week to reply to the questions (through Booking.com) we had after receiving the confirmation mail. This made it impossible to cancel freely within 24 hours. - The woman we got the keys from only speaks Spanish which made it hard to communicate. She rushed through everything when introducing the property to us and left before we had the chance to inspect the house properly. - When we reported that the property hasn't been cleaned up and the furniture was very dirty, the owner sent his cleaning stuff. Although we appreciate the effort, the result was not very satisfying. Some issues had been mitigated, some not. The owner also stated that he could replace the very dirty dirty couch and chairs but nothing happened within the first three days of our vacation. - The owner always stated that we can work things out and he can replace everything but we didn't want to live there while every now and then some workers would come to replace stuff. What about personal belongings while we were gone? Should we take everything with us? - Cancelling the booking was also not possible. According to the owner, we could still enjoy the house. However, after involving Booking, we - at least - received one night as a compensation. - When talking to Booking, the owner always slightly changed the facts to make himself look good. - If you want privacy, this is not your place to be. The house is divided into two parts and there is no proper privacy protection. Also, someone will come and clean your pool three days a week. - For the price of this house you can book many other houses in the same area. I would emphasise on going through my pictures - before and after the complaint - as well as scanning the reviews on Booking.com and airbnb for this house.

This was our second stay at Duna Colorada (Villa 1) and we liked it even more than the first time (which was 2 years ago). Since the palm trees have grown a lot, you barely notice the ajoining houses and guests. The kitchen is well equipped (even with sharp knives which is a game changer). The pool was cleaned twice a week which is nice. The contact with Maria, the house keeper and Victor, the owner, works perfectly and they provided a baby bed and a high chair for our 1 yo daughter.

great location to move around the northern part of Fuerteventura great facilities with a nice swimming pool nice design and good air- and soundproofing of the villa Maria (the host contact person) is very kind and attentive to your requests

the location within Lajares itself is not the best as you are more than 15/20 minutes walking distance (without any decent shade) from restaurants and supermarkets.
