Bungalows Tree Tops - Adults Only

We spent a wonderful week. The bungalows are beautifully decorated and the views on the ocean and the beach are amazing. The sound of waves is great and helps relax your mind! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The place is a hidden gem: peaceful heaven that calls for relaxation with unique atmosphere thanks to Maggy and Paula who are so nice and helpful! Big thank you to Carlos as well, we greatly enjoyed the trip to the market! And last but not least .... the 2 dogs and multiple cats made our days a joy! We not only spent a relaxing week but also had a fantastic human experience! We will come back for sure!

We liked everything!

The grounds were beautiful. There are palm trees and other plants everywhere. The beach is nice and clean and the sound of the crashing waves is so relaxing! You shouldn't swim there as the waves are very strong and there are warnings about rip currents. The property has two pools if you need to cool off. There are several little huts with lounge chairs to spend your day. There is a small store with drinks and snacks a few minutes walk away which is super convenient. There are several restaurants right down the beach. And one of the sea turtle release organizations is a minute or two walk away. Make sure to check if they are doing releases while you are there. And the cute little kitties were nice to have around.

The public transport (combi) does not run very often, it's every half hour. If you rely on that ask Maggy what the schedule is. There is a fence between the lounge chairs and the beach, so if you sit there you have to look through chain link to see the water. There are two chairs outside the fence with an umbrella which have a better view. The bungalows have ocean views, but its through a bunch of trees, so while you can see the water, you have to kind of squint.

Gorgeous property with fun little casitas, the whole time there was like living in a fantasy. The host, Maggie is a wonderful person, the staff was superb, and the friendly little pets were a delight. A great place to stargaze as it is outside the city lights.

Important to know Playa Blanca is close to the airport. We got used to the jet traffic - not a busy airport at all, and none at night.

The beach. It’s absolutely beautiful. And nobody on it. Just a few people each day. Air Conditioning. Wonderful pets. Our every need taken care of. Delicious breakfasts available and use of the outdoor guest kitchen Local restaurants very close, one with a fabulous cook Swimming pools that Maggie let get warmer for us Loved the outdoor showers for the pools and the water tubs outside our villa to wash our feet Quiet and peaceful. Very relaxing

Suggestions: A few more path stones to areas in the sand like to the beach gate or across to the outdoor guest kitchen would be nice You need to be able to get around in sand We preciously stayed at a similar spot that included breakfast, water to fill our water bottles with and had drinks and beer at cost.

Everything that was promoted about the property was accurate. It was the information that was missing that effected our rating. If you don't really enjoy ocean swimming but do love to walk along clean sandy beaches alongside wave action with no other people on the beach, and your own private lounge chairs and sunshade, this is the perfect place for you. Someone mentioned in their review that the waves were too loud. When we read that we laughed until we experienced it ourselves. The waves were strong enough that when they break on the beach the impact shakes the windows in the back of our bungalow (#3) and the sound woke us up from deep sleeps during the night. The groundskeeper was great - every time we needed him to assist taking our car away he was right there to help.

Our entire reason for reserving here was for the swimming and the beach. The waves come in series, as usual, but this one has about 7 modest waves followed by 3 monster crashing waves. My husband is a strong swimmer but the first monster wave hit him and crashed him to the bottom of the water, he had almost been able to rise for a breath when the next 2 hit, spun and rolled him and pulled him away from the beach. When he emerged he said he wouldn't do that again. We did find a great uncrowded beach about a 30 minute drive away at Playa la Ropa where we parked for free at the Le Perle Restaurant, ate delicious inexpensive meals, got 2 lounge chairs with umbrellas for $20/day. I would be remiss not to mention that while the breakfasts were tasty, if slow, they are taking advantage of the isolation and no other options for breakfast nearby by charging more for the breakfast than the 4 and 5 star hotels we stayed at for the previous 3 weeks.

Our bungalow, #3, was sweet, clean and had a great view. We rebooked our original reservation because this bungalow had air conditioning and the other did not. Was a costly change but worth it. We were able to move a coffee pot from the communal kitchen to our room because the rooms do not have coffee pots. The pools are lovely. The grounds are very well maintained. Breakfast was a bonus. There is a turtle sanctuary next door. if you are there at the right time you can help release baby turtles to the sea.

There are animals everywhere, 5 cats and 2 dogs. You have to be ok with that. The location has a few restaurants down the road but they close early. Our favorite was Chula Vida. There is an airport minutes away. the planes fly directly above, very low, the resort. Maybe 4 times per day. No one mentioned that in the other reviews.

Property falsely advertised ‘complimentary transportation to/from the airport’. We booked for this reason and when we contacted the property to coordinate our pick up we were told it was an error. We subsequently attempted to cancel our stay but our messages were ignored. We paid in advance for the stay, tried to cancel several days in advance, but messages ignored and credit card charged. Booking.com customer service has not been helpful either - thus buyer beware and consider other properties or booking sites.
