Room acoustics, you can hear noise outside your room.

The bed was comfortable and the room was nice and there were hot water to shower. There was a nice sofa to sit comfortably. The view from the room was very pleasant.

Breakfast which was included was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had in my life. Let’s start with the fact that it took an average of 45 minutes for it to arrive. I had 2 breakfasts: first day I saw other guests receive a totally rich and different meal, other guests that came later after me received their meal before me. After about 30 minutes I received a fried egg & 2 sausages, after stating again that I’m vegetarian. The food was returned to the kitchen but I didn’t received any egg whatsoever afterwards. I didn’t touch the cheap “toast” , butter and cheap gam that was there also. Very Small portion of fruits was given also & were fine. After complaining directly to the owner of the place that other guests were receiving a totally different meal which I asked him if it was vegetarian and he replied yes. I got 3 small pieces of chapati bread. Definitely not the same meal. One cheap tea bag was given for each meal. Above all, the fruit juice was warm, they didn’t have any ice so the put vanilla ice cream inside which made it taste even worse. Second day: after about 45 minutes of waiting for breakfast (I was the only guest in the dining hall) I received noodles from a box and some potatoes in gravy, not eatable. When I left the place none of the employees or the owner that was there the whole time was greeted me with goodbye or asked me about my experience. Definitely not worth the high price of the room. Highly not recommend. If you want to get a pleasant experience in nuwara eliya, find a different & decent place to stay, one that truly respects your presence & preferences.

Had a great time staying here! The view was stunning, and we loved waking up to it every morning. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help. The rooms were clean, cozy, and really nice. Just what we needed for a relaxing stay. Totally worth the price and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya.

For $50 per night you can’t expect 5•. And it’s not.

Kettle in the room but they don’t provide tea/coffee. Breakfast very limited. Inconsistent hot water. Poor WiFi. Poor cleanliness. Too far for Nuwara Eliya to walk. Might be ok in nice weather but a miserable place in bad weather.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Mount Royal. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (thank you for such a lovely stay!). Our room was beautiful with two balconies looking out over the hills of Nuwara Eliya. Our booking included a very tasty breakfast.

Nice clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Great view on the tea plantations!
