Cajun-Get Away

It was right on the water and beautiful The breakfast was really delicious too, and the bedroom and bathroom were beautiful as well

We accidentally left something at the property. When the property got in touch with us, we asked if they could mail it back. They said they could. Keep in mind that we only live two hours away and we could’ve easily driven in and picked it up. Then after they told us what to do and we did everything they told us in order to get it shipped back to us, one of the owners, Robbie, told us that they never wanted us to book with them again. Robbie said it was because it was too much trouble having to send something back. They complained that they had to run back-and-forth to the mailbox or something and one day that they try to ship it to us the mail place was not open. There was nothing that we could do about any of that. Like I said again, we could’ve easily driven in and picked it up. My husband and I were shocked when she said please don’t ever book with us again. I thought it was very rude and it upset me for a while. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before. Especially over shipping something back. You can easily just say no. So I would never book with them again and I will never recommend them to anyone. I would be afraid that somebody else would be put in the same situation and and it was pretty shocking and upsetting to me. It upset me for several days.

Location was nice. Loved the relaxation by the Teche. The breakfast was delicious. Although rain kept us from not using the pool; we enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and steamer.

General uncleanliness and dirty shower, dirty bathroom mirror. Cobwebs on the ceiling. Cracked floor tiles in bedroom area.

The location was perfect, the views, the outside seating, the most comfortable bed,and the host were more than accommodating.

The room was a little warm.

It was off to a weird start when the owner informed me that they never change the door code... Meaning anyone who stayed there previously knew the code and technically had access to the property. I immediately noticed a bad smell when I entered the room, but dismissed it because the owners have dogs and a cat. As the night went on, I saw a small roach (the kind you see with an infestation). Tried to kill it,but it got away. Tried to enjoy my night with binging a show. The signal/internet kept freezing up and I kept having to get back into the show. I saw a suspicious smudge in the sheets before I got in bed,which came off when I wiped it. I now think it was a sign of more roaches. I tried to be okay with the roach that got away and tried to sleep. I then had to go to the bathroom. To my disgust, I saw two more small roaches by the base of the toilet. So disgusting! This was the last nail in the coffin. I suspected a roach infestation from the small roach a few hours earlier,the smell,and what appeared to be roach turds along the baseboards/corner floor. I was so grossed out,I packed up and left at 5:30 am before even eating breakfast. I informed the property owners that I left and not to do breakfast and waste their time. I also informed them of the roaches. Instead of believing me or attempting to make anything right,the male property owner blamed me for the roaches, made excuses, made no effort to make it right, and said I should have informed him before I left (mind you quiet hours were listed to be till 8 AM and I'd had enough by 5:30 AM). Absolutely disgusting experience and the owners have no regard for the cleanliness of the property. It has appearances of being clean at first,but the roaches prove otherwise. Furthermore, the barn doors I posted in the picture connect to a room that connects to another room that the owners have access to. The barn doors don't lock. Very creepy. Lastly, the listing is so misleading. No tub,just shower.

L’emplacement géographique n’est peut-être pas le plus central et le nombre d’activités dans la région de Lafayette est assez limité, mais rien que les Jungle Gardens et Tabasco factory en valent la peine

Even though it’s in town, it’s private on the end of a dead end street on Bayou Teche.
