Odyssey House

Wonderful house in a beautiful location tucked away. Great restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. The hosts were so welcoming and full of useful information about the area and its history.

We loved the apartment! Right in the middle of things but quiet. It is much more spacious than we were expecting based on the photos. Great hosts, great apartment, great city!

The hosts were amazing. They were right next door. They greeted us with yogurt and quinces from their tee. There was nothing that we were left to want.

The master bedroom was a bit small

Thank you Xenia and Costas for your hospitality and being so responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your charming and spacious house, as well as the delicious yogurt and honey. Kumquats were yummy too! We look forward to staying with you again next time we are in Chania.

Xenia and Costas were excellent hosts and provided all amenities we could have needed. The house was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the traditional music from the restaurant next door and the lovely views of Old Chania.

We really appreciated the hosts offering of homemade baked kumquats and liquer and their friendliness.

We loved staying at Odyssey House! Xenia and Costas were excellent hosts, so welcoming and helpful and kind. They made great recommendations and gave us little gifts when we left too (local olive oil and a very nice home made liqueur). The house is full of character, a very old building full of history and very nicely renovated. A comfortable stay altogether. We also loved the restaurant across, and very easy access to the port and a lovely walk away from Nea Chora beach!

The facilities in the kitchen are basic enough, but at the same time we had everything we needed. There are lots of stairs (the house is on 3 levels), so not as safe for toddlers, but our kids learnt the limits quick enough. It can also get noisy late at night as the restaurant across has live music (but we did enjoy it ourselves one evening, and it was great, really!)

This appartement has a great location within short walking distance to everywhere in Chania. Very spacious in three floors. All basic equipment available. Effective A/C. Small terrace on top floor (no view though). Especially suitable for adults, with small children /elderly people three floors might be bit challenging. The owner couple are absolutely gorgeous, very friendly and welcoming! Small give aways brighten up your vacation!

This did not disturb us, but good to notice that appartement has only one bathroom in the middle floor. It is a very old building so this is very understandable, but might be a challenge again for families with small children.

We were made to feel so welcome, Costas and Xenia couldn't have been more helpful. The location was perfect - in the old town, nearest to the more authentic parts of Chania and close to an abundant amount of cafes, restaurants and shops. We were greeted in person on arrival, even though it was late and there was plenty of information regarding the house and the area available in the accommodation. It's a little further to the nearest beach from this part of Chania, but an easy walk through the labyrinth of interesting streets made it totally worthwhile. Our hosts were readily available if we needed anything but were totally respectful of our privacy. The house is cleaned regularly, and the small gifts they left for us were such a kind touch. The bus service, if you want to explore the coast, is very good, though it's very easy to just while away the hours in Chania.

There was nothing we didn't like. Don't be put off by the restaurant just outside the house. it's not noisy and is closed by midnight. It's also worth a visit!
