"Beautiful location"

9.0

The location is absolutely stunning, Tracy and David have a beautiful home and really were welcoming! The bed was really comfy and wonderful pillows! Fresh milk and orange juice in a glass bottle in the fridge, with a fresh loaf and croissants ready for the morning. Along with pots of jam and butter. Also making friends with their dog! Will definitely stay again!

Leaving! And going home!

"Perfectly peaceful rural getaway"

9.0

We were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing from which we could do a long walk, preferably ending in a great pub, and The Tool Shed was the most perfect fit. It was really well connected by car and has loads of public footpaths to take you on gorgeous trips through the countryside. We chose a 7 mile walk to the Sixpenny Brewery in Cranborne and it was glorious! We found wild garlic behind the church in Wimborne St Giles and saw hares and kingfishers along the way. The house itself is in an absolutely idyllic setting with gorgeous views (and an adorable dog). Tracey was so accommodating and communicative in the run up, but left us to enjoy the stay once we'd arrived which was perfect. The property was cosy but surprisingly spacious with a large bedroom and living/dining area. Really comfortable bed, and a good shower. The breakfast items and general essentials provided were great, and the galley kitchen had everything we needed. On our way home we popped by the Cranborne Chase cider shack (5mins drive) to get some delicious Dorset cider to take home as well - highly recommended.

My only tiny, tiny gripe is that only one side of the bed has a socket for charging a phone. An extension lead to service the other side would be amazing.

"A comfortable week, in a beautiful setting."

8.0

Good breakfast. It was very clean and comfortable and warm. Lots of hot water. Lovely and quiet. The host was super and very sociable, asking us if we needed anything. Bed very comfortable, lots of parking space.

We were a bit sad that the double glazing had gone in some of the windows so it was difficult to look out. Especially as we like to see the birds, There is a path from the house to the property, but not from the car park to the property and one morning my husband slipped at the gate as it was raining. We found the equipment a bit lacking, no cafetiere, we bought one in Waitrose, and only three glasses, apart from the pint. Nothing smaller for a whisky or orange juice. I was continually washing them. No teapot which we like, no milk jugs. Didn't really like the hotplate with just one ring. We missed getting live tv, ie BBC. We were watching the news on our phones! There was very little kindling so hard to get the fire going.
