Barossa Valley Springton Cottages

Loved the charming cottage, beautiful grounds and comfortable beds. Had a lovely pizza dinner at Grand Cru estate - very relaxed and friendly. Springton is a lovely, peaceful little town.

No cafes currently in the town - just one would be good. But at least there was a pod machine!

20 min drive to most of the Barossa attractions no option in town for dine in, but the general store does take away.

All communication with the hosts was prompt and easy and the property manager was really friendly and helpful. The Stables cotttage is an interesting change from the ordinary. The atmosphere is relaxing, charming and cosy. We apreciated the care taken to provide a welcoming home away from home and some treats and basic supplies which were a lovely surprise. There are lots of wineries and interesting small towns a short drive away or you can just relax in the garden.

At the moment several local businesses are closed so we had limited access to supplies close by.

It was central. Allowed visits to Adelaide Hills and the Barossa. A quaint, private setting. The accom was very clean and the bedrooms were large. Thoughtfully provided throw rugs mirrors etc which was greatly appreciated. Comprehensive instructions on how to use the facilities was great. Beds were warm, welcoming and comfortable and the linen, towels, pillows etc etc were all good quality. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend the accommodation with advice about the limitations I have noted below.

We stayed in a "Garden Villa" aka "Stables" as a party of three. Springton has a General Store and a pub which in our March 2023 stay was closed as it looked for a new owner, so self catering was on the books. The kitchen is a very small kitchenette (no oven) and there was really no ffod preparation area. The BBQ outside was great but is shared with the other two 'rooms'. There was only three chairs for the small table inside the accommodation, so if the party is larger than 3 you'll need to manage musical chairs. There was a much bigger outdoor table where we ate but it was subject to weather and shared with other guests. The Stables are fantastic for a party of three, a fourth person begins to test the infrastructure.

As 70 year old guests stairs were an issue with bathroom downstairs. Would suit a younger couple.

The Cottage is really a wonderful place. Not just the Cottage itself, nicely restored and decorated the whole setting with the lovely gardens is just really nice. Also it's a great place to look at the wine destinations near by. Nice coffee machine and a very welcome treat to some tim tams.❤️😁 The kitchen has all you need and more. Thank you for having us. If you really look out for some thing we would say the stove needs a update or repair. But that's really looking for something.
