Casa Shambala

Een prachtige ruime villa in een rustige omgeving. Aan de overkant van de straat is de kust welke echt prachtig is. De villa ligt op ongeveer 3 kilometer van Carvoeiro. Wij gingen er lopend heen, een fijne wandeling, met het laatste stuk een houten wandelpad langs de kust, een echte aanrader. Carvoeiro is een gezellig stadje met een mooie baai en leuke restaurantjes. Naast de villa is een pizzeria welke, op het moment dat wij er waren, helaas gesloten was. De villa was ontzettend groot en van alle gemakken voorzien. We hebben goed geslapen op goede matrassen en het was er heel stil. De tuin is heel mooi groen met een grote verscheidenheid aan bomen en planten. Het zwembad was heerlijk met voldoende ligbedden en stoelen. We hebben nog gebarbecued op het dakterras met mooi uitzicht op zee. Het contact met de host verliep prima. Wij hadden ook nog eens heerlijk weer in de eerste week van november. Kortom: villa Shambala is wat ons betreft een echte aanrader!

De badkamers zijn wat verouderd, maar wel netjes en authentiek.

Very spacious and the gardens were well maintained. Ideal location close to amenities. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen/ utility rooms well equipped.

walking distance of a few restaurants and only a short drive from the main town of Carvoeiro.

Nearest beach, Carvalho, had a great deal of seaweed and there were no facilities - we went to, Grand Praia, Ferragudo, which was fabulous.

Beautiful spacious house with lovely and comfortable furnishings. Beautiful bathrooms and modern kitchen extremely well appointed. Great location for exploring the Algarve - quiet neighbourhood but towns and restaurants a short drive away.

House is multilevel- one step from entry down to dining then 2 more steps down to living. Entry to bedrooms was six steps down. Craziest was a step up right in the middle of the kitchen. Steps not obvious as all pale marble with no differentiating edge. We had a few falls and lost one dinner on the floor- we ended up using black tape on the steps to avoid further falls.

We enjoyed the Villa and its location, it was very quiet and relaxed, The Villa and grounds are extremely spacious and evertyhing is generally wel kept clean and tidy. The Pool is amazing and the Villa is very well equipped for all aspects of your living needs and Harald is a superb host and communicator. Carvalho beach is very close (10 minute walk) and is lovely just note it is accessed by steep steps and through a cave so is not suitable for everyone.

I expected the Villa to be completely modern but parts of it are a little "old fashioned" this is of course subjective as my wife kind of liked this. I would also say the outdoor furniture whilst totally functional could be of better quality and our giant bed was actually just two best pushed together again subjective I was just dissapointed by this.

lovely large pool , each bedroom has its own bathroom, perfect location for a quiet holiday.
