Rouge - Private Villa Jae

The villa is beautiful, the staff is excellent, the setting was beautiful. Gede who was the staff on the property spoke excellent english, was ever smiling and ready to help.

There is no main door to the villa. At night, there is no door to lock. There is a gate at the start of the property and thats it, there is no door. You would need to lock your bedroom door at night. On the first night, electricity went off at 2 am and was restored at 6 am. we could see other villas in the area having electricity, so not sure what happened. it is a bit scary when you are alone in a property, which cannot be secured/ locked, you can lock your bedroom but your children are across at the other end in the other bedroom. That was an uncomfortable feeling

Air cons were not working properly. Outside tub was dirty and need cleaning.

Location was beautiful. Near enough to Ubud to pop in but secluded and peaceful in the mountains above and outside of Gothenburg city itself. The villa itself is exquisite. I am an interior designer and a product designer so I tend to be quite critical of the places I stay. Whoever designer the villa did an absolutely outstanding job. The layout is perfect, the details are stunning. Super elegant home. Pool it’s huge. Pool pavilion is gorgeous. Furniture is chic. Edge the butler was perfect. I will recommend this place to everyone I know. There is nothing to criticize about this villa. Oh! And the bathrooms! STUNNING.

There was some construction going on nearby so we had a little noise, but it was only for one day of our stay and wasn’t a huge problem.

I recently stayed at this beautiful villa and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The natural surroundings were stunning, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive and always present, making it easy to ask for help whenever needed, which I greatly appreciated.

However, I was disappointed to find that there was no mention on the website about ongoing construction work near the villa. This led to quite a bit of noise during the day, which detracted from the peacefulness of the stay. Despite this inconvenience, the positives of the stay outweighed the negatives, and I would still recommend this place for its natural beauty and excellent service.

The villa is open and big, furnishing is of quality. Bedrooms with ensuite. We thought we got 2 bedrooms as an entire villa, but we got only 1 bedroom and the second bedroom was closed off. There are staff working on site 24/7 which might be a privacy issue. Staff cooks nice breakfast. Swimming pool was great, but it's ruined with construction noise next door.

The villa listing fails to mention there is an on-going construction right next door. You can hear hammers and tools very loudly from the villa. This was not ideal for this villa because guests who stay here would like to be in a quiet environment to enjoy and relax. We couldn't stay at the villa during the day so had to be out and about to avoid the construction noises. When this was brought to the villa management, all we received was sorry. Noone took responsibility for the lack of listing information about the neighborhood construction. The villa is situated about 15 - 20 min drive away from the Ubud centre with almost no restaurant or cafe nearby, with completely open living - dining and kitchen areas, and indoor-outdoor flow. There are no doors to divide the interior and exterior in the open plan area, or to close off the noise. The gate has no lock, and anyone can just walk through the gate to the house and enter the house. We were told security available at thebgate for this reason, out of 3 night stay, 2 nights we came back with security guard was sleeping tight and didn't know we opened and closed the gate and entered the property at all. If you like simple drinks at the villa like tea or coffee, you have to order from the kitchen staff on site and pay extra for it from the menu. Bedroom smells like mould. Washer on site was broken. No laundry service nearby.

Fantastic time at a beatiful place.
