Villa Barbosa, 2 BHK Villa & Luxury Rooms near Colva, Sernabatim, Benaulim Beach

The location was good, a short drive to the beach. The caretaker was helpful.

The place was extremely badly maintained, and pretty unclean. There was a horrible wet smell when we first entered the property. The kitchen was badly equipped, it didn't even have bottles to store water in or basic crockery/cutlery until we requested it. There was an ant infestation on our first night there- they got into all our bags and beds etc. When we opened the microwave to warm something up, we found a shattered bowl/plate inside with stains on it. Clearly the microwave had not been cleaned or opened for weeks. When I opened a cabinet under the sink it was filled with dirt/mud/insect droppings. Even basic amenities like toilet paper and enough towels had to be requested. There was no hand washing liquid or basic shower amenities, let alone basic kitchen supplies (including dish washing soap). The place was not worth the money AT ALL, the host was incompetent and somehow unable to explain all the things that were going wrong. Moreover, the vibe of the villa is also pretty depressing since the host has made no attempt to make it warm or inviting. Please do not book here. We left a day early and moved somewhere else. Complete waste of money. Once again- the caretaker was excellent and helpful, he tried to do what he could to help us. All the above complaints seem to do directly with the host's approach to his property and his lack of interest in it.

The property has an authentic Goan vibe. Well kept and is at a good location close to multiple beaches. Mr Ruben is an excellent host and made us feel welcome. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Would recommend

The Villa has clean a/c rooms with a clean en-suite shower room with hot running water! The room has a balcony overlooking the calm of the green courtyard below and the trees all around. Ruben and his team are very friendly, helpful and hospitable. The beach is about 1km away but it’s a beautiful walk though a small forest of palm trees and sunken fields where there’s wildlife galore: pheasants, eagles, lots of other birds, water buffalo and oxen.

The only thing that I would say that needs to be addressed is perhaps sound proofing the doors as when guests leave early or groups of friends are chatting in the corridors late at night, the noise echoes along the corridor.

I had an amazing experience staying in South Goa, hosted by Mr. Ruben. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. He guided us to all the must-see nearby places, providing great recommendations and insights. His local knowledge made our trip even better, and we were able to explore so many hidden gems in the area. Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a comfortable place with excellent hospitality!

Ruben and his dad were extremely kind to us during our stay! The place was clean, comfortable and matched the pictures shown online. It was only a 15 minute walk to the beach which was beautiful. My partner and I both work from home and at one point there was a power outage and Ruben offered us a ride to the nearest cafe for us to use there wifi (thanks again). There was a little dive spot across the street with very cheap, very good Indian food.

Nothing
