SaffronStays Parsi Manor - 4-BR heritage villa near Charlotte Lake serving authentic Parsi meals

Tranquil stay in the forest with historic furniture and very friendly staff. The breakfast and dinner was healthy and delicious.

The were a few power outages and the wifi & LTE connection was often weak. In the city, connection is much better and stable

The location is away from a very crowded dirty and ill maintained town which at one point was a Unesco Heritage site. That's the only positive

When a property charges you close to 22,000 INR for two nights you expect a stay which is borderline luxurious. Parsi manor maintained and run by Saffron stays unfortunately invites you to stay in a room filled with the stench of dampness which continues to grow as your bed linens echo the same song and as the blankets and towels join the choir to sing a very poor melody. The caretaker salvages it a tad bit with his hospitality and simple Parsi and Maharastrian cooking which are pleasing to the palette. But Saffron stays unfortunately does not let you enjoy the one thing that made the experience tolerable as the bill presented on the last day attributed each meal per person at 800 INR, absolutely ridiculous pricing for a property that has already charged you 22,000 INR. The meal constitutes of a simple chicken curry, subji, dal, salad and a dessert (Same template for lunch or dinner) Long story short - If you want to feel robbed at the end of your stay go ahead and book the Saffron Stays Parsi Manor property.

Caretakers Santosh & his wife are great hosts. Excellently food preparation by them.

Basic toiletries can be provided especially when you charge 10k per night. Front space of the bungalow can be developed and utilised, a swing or a sitting area can be built. There is not much play area for the kids.

Great location. Very clean rooms. Lovely food made by the caretaker couple Santosh and Kunda.

Fact that we had to wait for the check-in. Clearly the caretaker couple looks extremely overworked having to take care of practically everthing from housekeeping to F&B and overall upkeep. They would really do with hrlp from at least couple more staff members.

Great location, easy walking to many of the view points. Secluded and away from the market with a private feel. Loved the porch area and the staff are brilliant!

Difficult to dry clothes on the racks, but it was the monsoon season!

The location and the ambiance is perfect! Loved the old world charm, very well maintained, excellent hosts/caretakers, very good food. Just the perfect place for a rainy day

May be they can include more info about how to reach Parsi manor from the parking lot/ train station. While Santosh is quite helpful, it would be good to have the info online. Another suggestion is to add some history of the place; it’s an amazing place and everything there looks like it has a story to tell. Would love some to hear/read some of that.

Complete detox from the madness of our lives. Even as Mumbai boils over and Matheran is warm, the manor was cool enough to be enjoyed without the AC. Great hosts Santosh and his wife. Each meal was different, interesting and complete - topped with a home made dessert. Loved our stay.

It's not dislike, but more like what can be made better. The outside can easily be improved and made more picturesque.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Unique, heritage property. The caretakers Santosh and Kunda went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The food was simple, but delicious.

The flooring in the rooms needs to be changed - it's rough on bare feet, but I guess being a heritage property, there may be issues about renovation. The Parsi vegetarian menu needs variety. I'm sure there are many Parsi style vegetarian dishes apart from Veg Dhansak!
