SaffronStays Parsi Manor - 4-BR heritage villa near Charlotte Lake serving authentic Parsi meals

The room was large and clean. The beds were good. The ventilation was good. The service was excellent and warm. The caretakers were excellent in friendliness and attitude. The silence and the greenery surrounding and the location are great.

This is just a bunglow with four rooms and little else. The flooring in the rooms is very old and of stone. The veranda lights are inside the rooms so the guests need to be disturbed every time. All the rooms are interconnected through locked glass doors. So if there is light in one room it flows into the other room. They could have some kind of blinds or drop down curtains in these connecting doors. The cupboards in the rooms need to have a facility for hanging clothes. There should be clothes hangers. There should also be a stand for drying clothes in the bathroom. There is a vast area outside the bunglow and that could be flattened and tiled or even made into a lawn so that there could be seating outside. Rain proof chairs could be placed there. They could make a clear space for games like badminton. These do not take a lot of money. So they can upgrade it from a bare bones but well maintained bunglow to a greater customer experience.

Loved the property! beautiful place, secluded, old world charming bungalow. The staff is outstanding. professional, very warm and welcoming. Kunda - the cook is amazing, she made really tasty home cooked food.

All four rooms are managed by Santosh. He looks after check ins and check outs, serves food and manages housekeeping. Had to wait for our turn for meals. The property can use some extra seating for meals and needs one more person on staff.

We loved the place and the staff were amazing. The food was delicious. We will definitely stay at this place the next time we visit Matheran.

This is real gem of a place - only 4 rooms and the most delightful hosts. It's almost a home stay really - and the food we ate here was exceptional. I would really recommend this to anyone

There is nothing we didn't like about this hotel. I would just urge any foreigner coming to Matheran to ensure that you have more than enough cash on you, as the ATM in Matheran will only work with a local card - and so lack of cash was a little stressful at times.

the bedroom had a very musky smell. the mattress and duvet hadn’t been changed in many years, possibly a decade. we could smell mold. the room was very small for the price. I would have expected a room twice the size for that price or half the cost for a room that size. likewise, the food was good but very overpriced. we left a night early for these reasons
