Nachiya

Location was great and quiet. The house was very spacious especially the bedroom with the seating area. We really enjoyed having a full kitchen. Mr Mamoru was also extremely attentive and helpful.

Es ist ein wunderschönes traditionelles japanisches Haus- riesengroß. Wir waren sehr beeindruckt. Das war der Höhepunkt unserer Japanreise!

Nachiya felt like a cozy home away from home. It’s a traditional-style guesthouse with a welcoming atmosphere. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, sharing local tips and making sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and well-kept, and we enjoyed the authentic Japanese vibe. Staying here gave us a sense of local hospitality that made our time in Kyoto even more special.

What an absolutely incredible experience in a traditional Japanese style home, the house far exceeded our expectations. The house is fully equipped and able to support a large family. Our host was very helpful with recommendations for dining, the absolute best ramen and okonomiyaki spot within walking distance. There are also several convenience stores and a larger grocery store within a five minute walk. Our host was also very helpful in transferring our luggage to our next stay. Public transportation is very close, taxis will also pick you up right at the door.

We have only positive words for Nachiya.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sehr sauber. Service war wirklich Mega gut! Wenn wir was gebraucht haben, wurde uns sehr schnell geantwortet. Es war sehr bequem und wir konnten sogar Netflix schauen. Es gab auch einen Wäschetrockner den man bedienen durfte. Uns hat der Aufenthalt wirklich sehr sehr gut gefallen. Werden definitiv wieder kommen und die Unterkunft auch weiterempfehlen!

This is truly a gem, best accommodation we ever had in Japan! Beautiful residential neighborhood, very serene with the sound of cicadas. 5-10mins walk to a supermarket and many local restaurants. One large tatami room and a very large western bedroom beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Separate AC in every room which was very appreciated during one of the hottest summers in Japan. Well stocked kitchen and dining room. Two very clean bathrooms and a washing machine that does both washing and drying and has a built-in detergent tank. The host was very friendly and even left us a tablet with marked restaurants in the area. It is 20min walk from Kinkaku-ji temple but you won't see crowds of tourists there, we took Uber to other locations which was very reasonably priced. Wi-Fi worked very well, no complaints from the kids. Two TVs have Netflix and Prime plus other streaming channels we didn't use.

Nothing, I would give this place more than 10 if I could.
