Boggy Creek - lodge with hot tub

Maybe a hoover or a little dustpan and brush would have been great

Overall a decent basecamp for surrounding area spots, that we were looking to explore. Had everything we needed in the lodge itself and the hot tub (although limited due to site restrictions) was widely used throughout (despite praying eyes).

The hot hub area is not as secluded as we thought, the neighbouring lodge were looking straight at us from their main kitchen window. The living room stunk of dog (I know it's was a pet friendly booking), but this was next level wet dog aroma, especially around the couch area. The drive for the lodge was taken up but several cars from the lodge next to us, so we had to go and ask them to move one of the cars.

Great location, lovely site close to major Northumberland visitor attractions, site was great, the staff at the crazy horse saloon bar were brilliant

Lodge was not clean, needs major investment, stains on curtains, carpets, walls and furniture. Lots of holes in doors and missing fronts on drawers also no blind on the window of the en suite Some critical utensils were broken like frying pan handles were missing, there was 2 or 3 bulbs missing from lights. Worryingly the smoke detectors were missing, first aid kit was completely empty. Hot tub needs attention the filter cover boken, no headrests, the device to assist with the heavy removal of the hot tub cover is broken, which resulted in a family of 4 trying there best to lift it on and off which is a health and safety issue!! The overall cleanliness is extremely poor and the smell of what I think is dog wee on carpets is very off putting However on speaking to one of the hosts who answered his phone he did manage to get a smoke detector, frying pans, first aid kit and eye wash kit to the lodge within a few hours, kris was also kind enough to pay for our lunch in light of not being able to cook breakfast, which we are very grateful This has potential to be a fantastic family lodge it just needs investment and a bag full of TLC This is my genuine and honest review

Broken outdoor furniture and missing cushions, outdoor lights not working, drawer fronts missing, no smoke alarms, screws missing from lodge door made it difficult to lock, grill not working properly

Really comfy and clean loved the hot tub and thanks for the prosseco enjoyed celebrating my 50th here will definitely be back thanks 😊
